The purpose of marriage throughout the history of Europe has been to secure rights in property.
The answer to this question is no. If I'm going to have sex I'm sure as hell going to enjoy it.

Well, I think many Americans are sleep deprived, over-worked, and have a poor diet, eat and drink too much, and whine alot.

I think the adults are happier and laugh more, and are more playful with their spouse.
