Why is this even considered news? I've known about Ferry Farm since i was a child. Who cares precisely where the house stood?

The cherry tree horsie poop and the story about throwing a dollar across a river come from Parson Weems, and people have known since it was published that it was bullshit. That this guy gives it any credence seriously erodes his own credibility.

Well, if they find new clues about Washington's childhood, and are able to make a reasonable reproduction of the house, I would say it might be worthwhile. I don't see what could be found to shed such a light on his early days, but, I don't do that for a living.
