Hi
Ive been asked many times by young people around 13 or 14yrs old about jewish children in germany around 1938-1939
Main questions they and I also want to know are
1. Were there seperate schools for jewish children
2. What were the living conditions for everyday jewish famlies in germany 1938-1939
thanks!
1933
Berufsbeamtengesetz: Jews banned from government jobs.
1935
Jews banned from Wehrmacht
Nürnberger Gesetze passed (racial purity laws banning marriage to Jews by non-Jews and removing citizenship for Jews).
1936
Jews banned from all professional jobs
1937
Segregation of Jews begins.
1938
Government contracts can no longer be awarded to businesses owned by Jews
Doctors are not allowed to treat Jews
Jews are forced to add Israel or Sarah to their names
Their passports distinguish them as Jews with a big "J"
Jewish children prohibited from going to public schools
Kristallnacht: nearly 100 Jews killed, and about 20,000 arrested
20% of every Jewish property confiscated to pay for the Kristallnacht damages.
Tell them it sucked to be a Jew in Germany during these years.
