cottage cheese, a can of beets, a can of black olives, some organic mixed greens, two bananas, and two tetrapacks of Gardennay soup. Shite. None of that sounds appealing right now.

What'd you have for breakfast?

Funny, Mame. I just looked at my food stores and ended up eating almonds and cheese. I looked for some soup, but just found black beans and canned tomatoes. I suppose I could MAKE something. Or I could go shopping.

I had cereal with almond milk for breakfast.

Yeah, I forgot to get granola yesterday. I had a banana and cottage cheese. Unsatisfying. Don't know what I wanted, though. Granola would have filled the bill.

Do you eat much eggs or bread at breakfast? I can't remember the last time I ate either of those.

Mame, I eat toast on days I go to work and tend to eat cereal or oatmeal on days I am staying home. But, now that it is summer, and I have some extra days off, I'll be eating more eggs, I'd guess.

Oh, and smoothies - I do more of those in the summer. I freeze some fruit (I prefer berries, cherries and bananas) and blend them with almond milk and plain or flavored yogurt - no ice.

bread or a bun from pan chanco's and an egg are a must pretty well every morning - after we've had our bowl of yoghurt , cereal and bananas and other fruit . i usually also have a slice of real swiss emmental cheese - none of the domestic swiss - but will sometimes have a piece of nice , aged local cheddar .
that's our 2nd breakfast around 9:30 , after we come back from the pool .
before we leave for the pool around 7:30 we ONLY have some buttered raisin toast or a rasin bun and a cup of tea/coffee .
got to keep up our strength - not getting any younger , you know Laughing

Wow, you guys have a big breakfast, hbg! I don't think I could get that amount down until after 2:00 p.m. I'm not a morning eater, I guess. At least what you're eating is healthy Smile

Today I just had a big slice of very ripe and sweet watermelon with lime
juice. It's too hot to eat anything else. I had an avocado for lunch with
crackers.

Mame, you can make a salad with the red beets and mixed greens,
afterwards one of the soups with olives. You should have had the
cottage cheese with banana for dessert, blended with a bit of honey.

I have made some interesting , odd things lately as I refuse... as long as possible.. to go shopping.

we ate for a concoction the other day-

1/2 can of salsa
1/2can refried beans
one can of black beans
one can of sweet corn

mixed together

then poured over tortillas that I 'cooked' in a hot pan with very little butter just enough to make crispy..

it was... err.. interesting..

breakfast is our most important meal of the day . we do have a light lunch but hardly ever have supper or dinner .
when we go on a cruise , we have to adjust our eating habits , but still have breakfast as our main meal and at dinner time usually get questioned by the stewards why we don't eat more . "you don't like the food ? can we bring you something else ? " , are the usual questions at our first dinner aboard ship .
particularly when we pass on the baked alaska , we are being encouraged : "just a little slice , yes ? " .
so we take a bit of time to explain our choice .

I'm starving and all I have is the faith that The Lord has a plan and I'm promised a better life one day if I send my grocery money in to (insert name here) ministries.....

(hope there's a cafeteria in heaven)

ever had a pasta with tuna fish over some onions? don't bother, it was rather disappointing, as expected. But after this meal, I was proud to observe that my food supplies shrank to 2 cans of tuna. Nothing else. I even ran out of toilet paper..... I did have a big workshop though, so i didn't shop for ages.

If I was about to eat tuna over onions.... I'd probably first make sure I had toilet paper....

you think "pre-paying" helps ?
they'll probably have lost your account by the time you get there .
but you may still be lucky ; they may allow you to scrape the cafeteria dishes !
bon appetite !
