I'm confused, Miller. How exactly is Barack Obama responsible for this?

Does stress exacerbate the effects of cholesterol and triglycerides? Meaning if one spent one's days in a less stressful occupation that did not require driving oneself to maintain one's ratings, would cholesterol and triglycerides be just as dangerous to one's health?

I suspect this has something to do with universal health care. But I'm not entirely certain.

Who cares, anyway? We're all dying every single day. Big deal. It's just part of the life cycle. Why analyze it to death?

Why? Because a bit of analysis can mean the difference between life and death. My husband's cousin, who was in his fifties at the time, has a daughter who is a doctor. He was a bit overweight, but otherwise felt fine. She nagged him to get a complete checkup. He didn't want to go, but went to the doctor just to humor his kid.

They found narrowing in a number of arteries, with one artery being 90% blocked. He was a heart attack waiting to happen. He had a four way bypass, and over two decades later, is fine.

There are some conditions, like aortic stenosis, which often have no clinical symptoms in the early stages, that can cause sudden death.

To me, life IS a "big deal", and I want to be on top of things. Burying one's head in the sand is a recipe for disaster.

My mom used to say

" When I was a girl, people just DROPPED DEAD, now everybody's gotta know why".

She was ahead of her time my ma.

It's been known for a long that stress can be a killer.
