Great job, Green Witch. I might like that one even now.
Chai, mixing manhattans... 3rd to 6th grade: a little like taking xrays at 16. I doubt it would happen today.
Rockhead, evening newspapers, and now even the evening tv news. Times have changed and it looks like we're not going back to either.
Wy, I remember staying hours later than clock out time as a hospital cashier trying to balance every cent.

I worked in a pickle factory for six weeks. The first three weeks, I stuffed dill into glasses at the beginning of the conveyor belt. Down the conveyor belt, the glasses would first be filled with vinegar, then cucumbers, then they would be pasteurized, then they would screw the top onto the glasses. After that, someone would take the glasses off the conveyor belt and package them. But they were already out of my sight at that time.

The second three weeks, I would work as a lab assistant in quality control. That was much more interesting.

First job: Walking two little dogs for an elderly neighbor who broke her leg. I think I was about nine. She paid me with coins, but I don't remember the amount.

Best Job: Putting together still life arrangements for an art school. I was 16 and I got to go into the prop closet and put together items depending on the daily assignments. Sometimes a Cezanne was called for, other days a Dutch vanitas , or a modern arrangement of bottles. My mother was best friends with the owner of the school and she gave me the job when I told her I was studying art history. I also had to clean up the studios and take care of supplies, I loved every minute of it.

oooh, that sounds most awesome.

The women tended to rather unattractive, at least facially. I remember being shocked when I saw a tampon string dangling out from one of them once. There was one hot latino guy who got to do all the classical poses, but most of the guys looked like they belonged in a Breughel peasant dance. I think when people are really attractive they only take their clothes off for more money. You need to go work for a men's magazine or strip club.

my very first job was illegal.

my first real job was hotel clerk.
Worked in exchange for a room.
Never been screwed over so bad in my life.
Then I worked at subway for a few months, followed by a local ( rio rancho) video rental store.
Then got a certificate and began working in an auto shop. Moved to installing auto glass, then went to minor repairs / oil changes etc.
Doing that payed for nursing school . Started out as a home health 'aide' working my way up the ladder.
Side jobs during that time included grocery store clerk, gas station clerk, porno sets as a 'director' Rolling Eyes that was the dumbest damn thing.. construction ( mostly clean up ) , a dispatcher for a dumping company..

****.. that isnt even 1/2 the list......

I was just supposed to tell ONE job huh?

Besides babysitting, my first job was a swim instructor. I got to soak up sun before my shift started.
