My doc just told me that if my lung function was under 40 percent that spiriva doesn't do any good. I thought it was suppose to help maintain what lung function I had left. Am I just wasting my money to buy this expensive drug for nothing. Anyone know anything about it.

Yes I have COPD. Not sure of how much lung use I have left. But I know it's under 40 percent. Just not sure about this new doc saying spirivia won't slow the disease down if under 40 percent.

My husband is diagnosed with COPD and uses Spriva daily. He says he "thinks" it helps. He also uses another inhalant, albuterol daily.
