As my state's stupidly late primary swings into full gear I'm thinking of hanging a sign on my door that says:

Yes you can talk to me about your canidate
but you'll have to buy me dinner first.

I'm thinking they'll either go away or they'll bring me food and either way I'm a winner!

What about a sign that says "If you knock on my door I will not vote for your favored canidate"?

Would a red, white and blue, "None of the above" yardsign help?

Would it be unethical to change my voice mail message to something like "I must keep my phone line open as I am waiting to hear from my doctor regarding my transplant. If you are anyone other than my doctor please hang up immediately."

If I flew a Canadian flag would that help keep them at bay?

Do you have any more/other/better ideas for me?

Some years ago the message on my answering machine at home was "Hi! You've reached the XXXXXX residence. If you are a friend or family please levae a message and we'll be sure to call you right back. If you're a debt collecter we don't live here any more. If you're selling something we're just not interested."

For a few months people just chuckled. Then the phone started ringing every 20 minutes or so. I finally answered the phone on one of the calls and asked what was going on. Some telephone operators had heard the message and were passing around the number so I had telephone operators from all over the country calling just to listen to the message. I changed the message and after a few days the calls stopped. Embarrassed

I'm afraid they'd just send people with infectious illness' to the quarantine zone and "I'm not voting" would send everyone and their dog and their neighbor and their neighbor's haidresser to my door to tell me that I'm an idiot and it's my duty to vote.

That Bob Barr thing would probably attract way too much attention then even people who aren't already annoying would want to talk to me too.
