If point A were twice as far from point E, it would be the same distance from point E as point C is at coordinates (0, -2).

it has the line

"the same distance from point E as point C is at coordinates (0, -2)"

can we consider it as EC ? but there is no "from" keyword like the first sentence....it just says "as point c" ...hence it does not look like a proper english.

How to read this line ?

What does "EC" mean?

Quote:
the same distance from point E as point C is

At 115 miles away, Birmingham is the same distance from London as Bristol is.

Perfectly OK.

contrex - "EC" would be the line from point E to point C - Birmingham to London, if you will.

We are considering three points on a graph.
The coordinates of only one, C at (0, -2), is given.
The distance of A to E is half the distance of E to C
(This could be written as AE is half of EC)

Hope this helps.
