Historians and Segregation

Do white historians give accurate details of the segregated south which include lynchings or do Black historians give a more accurate detail?

I am specifically talking about the era between 1900 and 1930.

I'm interested in any particular debates you know of between historians - no matter if they are Black or White.

What are some of the views historians have of the segregated south and lynchings?
