here is an unusual airplane you may want to add to your collection :

it is the FIESELER STORCH (stork) . it could start and land on extremely short runways .

from wiki :

Quote:
The Fieseler Fi 156 Storch (stork) was a small German liaison aircraft built by Fieseler before and during World War II, and production continued in other countries into the 1950s for the private market. It remains famous to this day for its excellent STOL performance, and French-built later variants are a common fixture at air shows

Lots of wing area for its size!

Did you check out the three cylinder 2, cycle, front wheel drive motorcycle and the propeller driven bullet train?

propeller driven bullet train?

that was KRUCKENBERGS's "schienen-zeppelin" (rail-zeppelin) . it operated for a short while between berlin and hamburg in 1930 .
it had to be withdrawn because of the extreme turbulence created .
it set a record of 230 km/h - a record only broken by a french train in 1954 .

here is another unusual german transportation system .
it's called "schwebebahn" - kind of hard to translate - i suppose "suspended streetcar" comes closest .
it's been running for about 100 years . the cars are suspended from the rails and the cars don't interfere with any other vehicular traffic .

fully clad 500 cc BMW motorcycle used by ERNST HENNE in 1937 to set a motorcycle speed-record of 279 km/h - which stood for 14 years .
since he couldn't get his feet on the ground , the motorcycle had to be held upright by his crew-members to get him started .
