Okay...So i work as a pool attendant at a local condominium.....
It has Great pay and Benefits and Untill recently Ive been Extremely happy there....But Issues with another pool attendant Has Recently Thrown my entire job into turmoile (i know i didnt spell it right,Shut up)
This guy has Worked At the condo A Long ass time (10+ Yrs) and We've always gotten along very well and ive even had alot of respect for him as he seemed pretty Cool......i'll also Stress that aside From Working there longer than me he has no authority Over me whatsoever.
Not a boss,Or a supervisor or whatever (ive checked with my boss on this too) but he's began acting like he is And over the most PETTY ****! Yelling at me because i placed a lounge chair where HE wanted a table to go and When i state "Hey man,Thats kinda petty dude" he Freaks and says that if i dont do things HIS way i wont work there anymore.
Leaving Rude notes to other pool attendants Calling Us "Lame and lazy"
Just last Night leaving a Comment on a note that stated "Take this down and loose your JOB!"
And now thanks to him im being transfered OUT of the pool to a department im not happy with...Ive never had a problem with this guy and since he's started this ive stopped communicating with him entirely for fear that if i do speak to him what i say wont be very nice......
Also the general manager is giving me verbal warnings but not being very specific On any of what he's telling me Even when i ask For him to be a bit more clear....I cant win with this guy....My managers know of his attitude but he gets away with MURDER there.....Showing up whenever he likes or not at all,Telling People Flat out NO When he's told to do something and Theres no consequences for him at all.....Not following ANY of the rules Our Manager sets for us and the manager doesnt Enforce them with him! Just with me!
Im sick of him powertripping us and being so bossy and rude,Im sick of the double standards,I already have a full time job at night and Dont NEED this job.....
but it has great pay and benefits......so ive gone to 3 days a week but i feel like its still too much....What would you do? Would you quit? Cause im really starting to lean in that direction.
The other day i was scolded because i didnt put a check mark on a Form....
this Part of the form was a Part That HE made and that HE Decided he wanted us to start Checking......
Its nothing we actually have to do! Its a part of the form thats not even official! Just something HE Decides! And then decides we have to put little checkmarks there....And cause i didnt i get scolded?
Other jobs have benefits. Quit before you stick up one of those long-handled filter nets somewhere on him where the sun don't shine.

Well,I take great care to avoid him and The issues with him have subsided since im not in contact with him anymore.
the double standards still GREATLY exist though....he hasnt shown up to work for the past week saying he's "sick" Although We see him at the local bar's daily...

If you don't need the job - then leave the job. Don't get caught up with rage and injustice - it will not benefit you and serves no purpose as it apparent anything you do with this chap around, will not bit good enough. If the bosses are supporting him and you don't feel it's right - then you could make a formal complaint - but I guess in reality, if the bosses are supporting him now then this would probably not make a difference. If I were you, I would walk away with your head held high and find another job. As you say - you don't need the job - so walk away before you respond in a non-productive way. That will not serve your purposes well and won't get you off in the right direction.

Well......thing is now i sorta DO need the job......Yeah........
And like i said.....I barely see him anymore so the issue is basicly Resolved.Also luckily ive found out its not just me but all owners/board member/Employee's feel the exact same way about this guy....So thats good.At least im not alone!

which department? doesn't that mean you won't have to work with that guy?
it seems to me that - for whatever reason - the job has become EXTREMELY important to him. it sounds like he's getting a bit anxious/neurotic about something - and the something may have nothing to do with the job.
i'd talk to him and find out what's *really* going on.
Let me guess. Is his name "Trump"?
