Do you dudes think the movie has taken away from Spartacus' historical significance?

Because he almost singlehandedly took down the Roman Empire. If not for a snitch merchant he would have sabotaged the food supply, and most likely made the Empire bow before him. But i think when people hear the name they think "NO I AM SPARTACUS!" like some kind of comedy, and it is a terrible injustice.

Not the significance, after all, all history-based movies mangle history. At least almost all of them.
