May I have your signature on these papers?

Should I replace 'papers' with 'document' or 'documents'? I think it shoud be 'document'.

Many thanks.

These papers, this document, these documents, all could be correct depending on circumstances.

If it's only one document comprising several pages (and only the last page has to be signed), I'd choose the second option above.

To me "signing papers" indicates routine business. Signing a document is more formal, more important.
