No fair with Aristotle, Moses, or some of the others...we don't know really what they looked like.

Oh yeah, Shirley Temple, forgot her.

I get Ghengis and somebody else mixed up.

Jesus, Mother Theresa sure looked like death eatin' a ham sandwich.

Where's Netanyahu?

Not near Sharon I guess...

No, I meant Sharon.

Thanks for the Dante pic!

At least we know for Aristotle, as there is a bust by the Greek sculptor Lysippe:

Oh-ho, I take it back--I didn't see Audrey before! That makes a grand total of five women...

You can't see more women because the men are holding them down.

I got curious about the painting, and tried to find it, and did, with pretty complete lists of who's in it (not totally complete), so I'm stopping the guessing.

I did find a version with numbers on it though that might make it easier to say who's who (as in, "34" instead of "towards the middle, kind of to the right, between that one guy and the grumpy-looking bearded guy"), if you'd like me to post that. (Just numbers, no identifications.)

I was trying to find that back and found something even better (though I can still get the numbers-but-no-IDs one if you'd like) -- just scroll over the person's face in the image and the name pops up! I can post that when we think it's wrapped up, it's very cool.

One thing I'll say is that the three young guys around Dante, up on the balcony, are the painters.

Fine, Soz, I'd like to see the pic with identifications later.

I guessed almost everybody but I'm not sure though...

I thought it was Garibaldi, but it turns out it's Maxim Gorki.
