Cigarette Company Paid for Lung cancer Study

I don't know why anyone's shocked or surprised. If you dig deep enough, you'll find that most medical research is actually funded by groups which have a vested interest in the results. Tobacco companies have been funding research on the effects of smoking on lab rats for decades. And, often times, bragging about how concerned they are with the public's health. The only amusing aspect here is the fact that Liggett apparently tried to hide (or at least disguise) the ultimate source of the money.
