How to express this idea?

Hello, Smile
Smith has a whole translation pattern regarding a style of literature.

Smith's preference of the translation method is A first, (if A not applicable) then B, (if B not applicalbe either) then C.

Then let's focus on a definite aspect of the qualities of method A, B and C. On this regard, we have A > B > C.

I want to know how to expresses the above idea. (Could I say "his chioce of methods corresponds to the decrease of that attribute"?)

Thank you!

Smith prefers translation methods A, B and C in descending order of priority.

You do not say what that attribute is.
