Hillary Clinton as Christ figure now...

How far will this go?

Obscure reference to an old TV show - It Takes a Thief:

"Beautiful...beautiful."

What, because Bill appointed him to a political position 10 years ago, he was obligated to now endorse Hillary for President, or otherwise he's an ungrateful dick?

And they call Obamaites cult-like. You'd have thought that Richardson was bound by some Clinton family omertà from the moment he was ever appointed to a position by one of them.. regardless of what he actually, you know, thinks about the candidates. Now that's cult-like.

Right. That position was bought and paid for, with no debts owing. Richardson made one of those quick switches and voted for the other Bill's gun control bill.

There is something of a difference between cult-like adoration and simple loyalty and gratitude.

Arguably, Richardson owes his current political status to Bill Clinton. Maybe Billy-Boy promoted Richardson only because he wanted to be seen as high on "greasers," but does that matter unless Clinton admitted it to Bearded Billy?

With increasingly rare exception political loyalty lasts only as long as it doesn't get in the way of the political aspirations of the vassel.

I have litte doubt that Bill or Hillary would ever have sublimated their ambitions to their Political Lord.

The difference between now and the Dark Ages, is that back then, Lord Clinton would have killed the underling Richardson, if he could, for his disloyalty.

These days, the price of betrayal is much less severe and so it increases the risk taking capacity of the carls.

So it is a political betrayal of almost Shakespearen proportions, but it won't end with actual blood. The Clinton Loyalists who call for the blackguard Richardson's guts, are hardly Clinton cultists. It really is pretty silly to suggest otherwise.

Hillary is not, by any measure, Messianic. Obama, obviously, would like to be. Obama supporters who wish to skewer Hillary would be best served by not trying transference of the cult thing. At least if they wish to preserve credibilty and respect.
