Nickel/dime transactions should not in theory have triggered investigations; some see the hand of Wall St. in Spitzer's demise, i.e. payback for a number of Mike Nifong style handlings of cases against Wall St. fat cats who technically hadn't done anything really wrong.

Spitzer was widely aqssumed to be a future first Jewish president; he now joins the ranks of former dem rising superstars like Adlai E. Stevenson III who got stuffed by cartoon series showing Jesse (The Mind) Ventura body-slamming the "Evil Special Interest Man"...
