It is Lola's birthday next week folks.

I have been saving my best Spoonerism for the big day in order to show my appreciation for all the fun we used to have and to recognise this important milestone.

What are you going to do to make her smile and to blow a little love in her direction.

I can hardly wait to hear it, spendius.

Hmm. This place is open again? Awfully dusty around here.

The place is kind of dusty. Lola had an old painting on the wall so I replaced it with a portrait of our president.

I think Lola will really just turn her place into a saloon for a second and invite the guests to shoot a few holes in the portrait. Just my guess though.

If Lola shows up perhaps she will confirm that Blatham has stopped smoking for more than 30 days -- in which case I will have to read his favorite book.

It's not bad George if it is the Anti-Intellectualism In America rant.

Do you miss those two as much as I do.

I do miss them, but also fear these threads are getting a bit stale, We have all already said everything at least twice.

I hope it may be a goiod read. Generally I despise the tribe of self-loathing analyzers of their belly button lint. Every country and culture has numerous, often contradictory, currents running through it. Not all of them are either interesting or even relevant to what is at issue today or even what interests me. However - a promise made ...

You should go more often to 'politics', George: there's a Nobel Prize worthy recycling of responses!

Can anyone recommend an adult beverage that will take the <grimace> edge off of a bump on the noggin?

Confused

I'll just lay down under a table til someone suggests a good bevvie - and brings it over with a bendable straw.

Wouldn't tea and gin and ice cubes with, perhaps, a twist of meyer lemon work?

I would think a couple glasses of wine would work.
