Timber, you would fit in anywhere and if this is a little too close to the edge, just sit back and enjoy. Many of us, including me, flit in and out and disappear then, mysteriously, come back for Wassau's magic concoctions and the warmth and friendship of Lola's Cafe.

Georgeob's poetry is captivating, reminds me of hiama.

We should be careful with the mermaids Timber. -- but it is sweet.

Don't know 'hiams', Diane, but here's one for you (with the editorial indulgences of old William Butler)

I will find out where she has gone,
And kiss her lips and take her hands;
And pluck till time and times are done
The silver apples of the moon,
The golden apples of the sun.

... A small knock.

Then another... slightly louder.

Wassau rushes to the door and a small, rounded figure enters.

She's dressed in an old beret with a strange insignia, a long rose-colored scarf to match her glasses, black leather and jeans.

Scuffling occurs and two chow-chows come tumbling in as well. The black one is incongruously wearing a teeshirt -- the red one looks ready for trouble, but they are quiet enough and happily greet Wassau who has already promised them Greenies and a kitty-cat movie.

Piffka enters... greets Lola and smiles at the other guests. She sees Diane and winks. Wassau has shimmered back in and takes her coat and then her boots. He goes for her scarf which she allows, but denies him her hat.

Hi! How are you?? <Hug Hug, Kiss Kiss> I heard there were poetry readings and the dogs just had to get out. But I see I should have brought my mermaid outfit. Oh well, I DO have an umbrella... somewhere.

A drink? Oh... well. Hmm. An Irish coffee sounds yummy -- please, easy on the whipped cream.

How're things?

Some Alice B. Toklas brownies coming right up. My recipe from San Francisco in the 60's is still a favorite. EhBeth mentioned chocolates on another thread that sound multiple orgasm good, I'll see if I can find those to add to the brownies. (Samika?--something like that.)

Oh goody, Piffka, you've brought your doggies to play. HofT is usually in charge of the dogs, but she's away for the week.

Oh look, here's Belle now. <lick pant slurp, tail wagging>

Belle's a golden retreiver and we have a Hercules (Jespah's dog) and some others.....

Prissy? Get Piffka a mermail costume. We're playing dangerously today.

Yep. Dogs are along... I don't think I could have left the house without 'em. They were panting for a walk. Not too much trouble, I hope.

And just exactly where are these scallop shells supposed to go? Where's 3-M when you need 'em?

Very nice umbrella.

But again ----
A mermaid found a swimming lad,
Picked him for her own,
Pressed her body to his body,
Laughed; and plunging down
Forgot in cruel happiness
That even lovers drown.

Diane, I have one here for you, too.
With your hair, I think you would look stunning in turquoise.

georgeob1, please don't fret. We can't drown you, you're a merman!

Oh, silly me, I forgot to get you a costume. Embarrassed

Here. Try this one on. MUCH better! The mermaids won't be able to keep their tails off you!

That's lovely Eva. It's appropriate for Diane....... but I think we're going to have to lose the shells on the breasts. We're sexy, tempting mermaids after all.

Don't disturb us: George and I, we are for a moment in the garden, having some drinks (nota bene the separating plate between the two of us!).

My gosh, Walter. I had no idea!! That's not water, I'm thinking. Wink

Thanks for the costume, Eva. It is much more comfortable sans shells. You have such excellent taste and a real eye for color. Yellow doesn't work for me, but gold always has.
