Ha! Woweee! Yipidee-dooodaaah! (or whatever people say in this country)

CONGRATULATIONS! I'm sure we could even put a choir together! Perhaps not very professional, but free!

oh goody! I knew we could make it an raunchy occasion with a little effort. And a free choir would be a gratifying touch. The more free stuff the better.

I've chosen my best maternity dress for the ceremony.

I'll practice my Moroccan bongos.

I can back up the choir.

In Canada, we traditionally make a vocalization meant to suggest the sound of a hockey puck hitting a loon in the kneecap.

No, Kicky is Italian. He won't be invited.

It's okay, I'll crash it. Unless of course there's no open bar. But wait, your daughters will be there, right? I'll be there.

Congratulations, you sweet starry-eyed kids.

Hey Kicky,

There's a poker game tonight at our house. Wanna come over?

Well, now that you mention it.........I'm not playing. I'm ignorant of the rules of poker and I intend to keep it that way. But I like to watch.

Hi Thomas...........enjoy the South. But you really need me to check out the evangelicals. Does your itinerary include Texas?

Nope -- just California, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, and North Carolina. All those states are well-known for their hardened atheism; I'm afraid there wouldn't be any evangelicals there for us to check out.

Will your wedding be Baptist or Mennonite?

Our wedding will be very City Hall. Isn't that the most romantic thing? God's not invited.

And I'll work on something for ya in Alabama or Louisiana

City Hall weddings, at least in Toronto, are very romantic.

Little staircase and everything.

A colleague of mine had the loveliest lunchtime wedding there a coupla years ago. A bunch of us put on our hats, grabbed our cameras and made the scene.

It really was quite wonderful. She was from the Ukraine, he was from India, neither had family in Toronto - but the friends and colleagues made it (we had more cameras per guest than any other wedding I've ever been to).

When I told my family I thought a City Hall wedding was romantic, they thought I was kidding. They think we should do it in a church. Shows what they know.

Do it in a church, huh. What's wrong with that? Sounds just like the kind of iconoclastic prank you and Bernie would pull off.

Saw a little action on this dusty old thread, and .... I'll be damned!!! A wedding !

Congratulations to the two of you. When?????

Any chance Bernie will wimp out at the last minute?? (Canadians are tricky that way) . Even if the pregnancy turns out to be just gas, a real shotgun might be in order.

I'm truly very happy for you both. I can think of few people who deserve each other more. I mean that both as a friendly jab in the eye, and as well, very seriously and earnestly.

Good luck and God bless (It's OK - he's Irish, is very tolerant and has a great sense of humor.)

Actually, I wanted to spare Bernie but (it's Bernie that's pregnant, but we're not sure who the mother is). So the shotgun is for me. Bernie will have to find me first. But the first place he'll look is in our bed.

Congratulations, Blatham! Good Luck, Lola!

I agree with Thomas that a church wedding for the two of you would be a very bold and interesting move.
