Hi
Could somebody please edit this passage meant for Grade 3 pupils for me? Many thanks in advance.
Last week, our teacher, Miss Ong, and my classmates went to an old folks' home by bus.
When we arrived at our destination, we were all excited as this was the first time that were visiting a home for the elderly. Some of us shook hands with the old folks while the others gave them presents.
One of the old folks told Miss Ong, "I'm in this home because my son doesn't want to live with me after he got married. You must not do that to your parents. It's a cruel thing to do." Miss Ong nodded her head.
Some of us were talking to the old folks floor One of the old men was telling stories, and several of my classmates were listening to them. Some of the children were mopping the after sweeping it.
Soon it was time to go home. We bade them goodbye and some of them also responded by bidding us goodbye. We were sad to see the elderly as most of them have been abandoned by their children. However, we were glad that we brought them some cheer as their children seldom visit them.
I hope to visit them again soon.
Some of the children were mopping the after sweeping it.
There is a missing word in the above sentence and I believe that word is probably "tile".

I left out the word 'floor'. Many thanks.
Do you see any other errors?

Er, come again?
I'm very careless. I must be sleepy. It 5 a.m. and I'm not asleep yet. Thanks for pointing out the mistake.
I'd better go to bed.

PS I've corrected the errors pointed out by Gus and Quincy.
