I am not a big valentines day person. Hallmark holidays just dont do it for me..

BUT-

Little Beans school is offering a parents night out on Friday.
From 6-10pm for 25.00.
The mister and I have not been on an actual date in a looooong time...
So I want to take advantage of this, but I do not want to do the usual boring dinner and a movie. I also do not want to spend a lot of money.

Cheap date ideas?

Im thinking of maybe taking him out on a Kayak - 15.00 for an hour
Having dinner BEFORE we leave so that we are not hungry while we are out..

but I cant think of anything else.

cheap ideas?

What a great idea from the school...

Something particular to you two, reminiscent of early days? (Uh, parking at a mountain road turnout? whatever...)
a music concert sim to old times?

Museum? Art gallery? Science centre? Concert?

A lot of those seem to be free or reduced cost on Friday nights.

I'd probably google "my town name + friday + night + free" and see what popped up.

Go rollerskating at a roller rink...

Were there any fun dates from when you were courting that you can relive?

Pack a picnic dinner and head up to Lover's Lane or Lookout Point at sunset and have dinner and listen to "your songs" on the radio.

We never really 'dated'

We just moved in together. Laughing

The one thing we used to do a lot of , when we were childless..
was take small naps during the day because we were up all night talking .

We would lay out on the bed and talk all night long until we realized we had to work in about 2 hours or so..

Other then that, there was nothing that we used to really DO together that was different then any other day..

I tried looking up museums but most of them close around 5 and her school does not open until 6

I will try that google suggestion and see what I come up with

What about camping overnight in a state park somewhere, just the two of you.... picnic dinner and breakfast and sleeping bags...

Lake Austin. Lake Austin is on the west side of Austin. For an inexpensive afternoon, take the bus or drive to Mozart's Caf?, located at the intersection of Lake Austin Boulevard and Enfield Road, and have coffee and a pastry by the water. There is also a terrific restaurant at this spot: Hula Hut. It serves tropical food: a combination of Mexican and Polynesian food, and has a deck with a view.

That sounds interesting.
