@Rockhead,
Morning down under and happy Sunday evening to the rest of the crew.
Love the pictures of your boots Izzie. Can't believe they are the highest ones you have!! You can wear any high shoes now babe!!
Mis. You are a real trooper with your ball games. Bless those boys!
Dutchy- so glad you are home safely and had fun.
I am not working this week. CAT scan and consultant to see what is going on with me. Overdoing it a little I guess.
Anyway the sun has shone today and that makes everything a whole heap better!
Brooke- so glad your world is happier and papa is getting better. Still with you babe.
Love to you all

Ha.... I wish!!!!! A few minutes max before my foot goes numb - it just won't bend at all - will stick with my trainers now I've got used to them.... BUT.... if I want to ............I CAN PUT MY BOOTS ON! YAY YAY YAY! How happy is that? It's the CAN do it, as opposed to "you will never be able to" do it - and I CAN... I CAN.... HA!

Don't forget to make the call in the morning and get yerself along for the scan smartish - and quit workaholicking - take it easy for the next week... RIGHT! You don't want me to come up there and give you "THE LOOK" do you! Actually, don't think I will be able to drive for 5 hours so can't see us getting up there for Easter - will see how I do by the end of the week. Love you sis. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Rock - ahhhhhhhhhh NOPE - don't do cooking.... well, not clever cooking - you'll need to holler for Beth or Mis methinks!

@Izzie,
Don't despair Izzie. I wish you could wear the more stylish footwear you probably covet, but small things to appreciate for now. I'm just happy that you are no longer in so much pain.

And just think. In a few decades you'll be as old as I am when comfortable footwear is ever so much more important than style and you won't care. Smile

@Foxfyre,
Hey FoxyF - yep, as FQ knows - I am no fashion queen - I wouldn't know a Gucci from a Yukki - which is fine in my world - I did love wearing my heels and having legs up to my armpits - but now - hey, me and my trainers are doing just fine around the house and the garden. I rarely go "out out", as in anywhere special - and don't need heels to go take pics and walk around fields and forests, so it's really OK.

I am actually waiting for "shoes" to be made for me on the NHS. Ha - so not sexy - but if they do the job - I will be able to walk my mountain. My ankles are more of a bother at the moment - but the leg brace (mmmmmmm.... nice <ack>) does make such a massive difference. No-one can see it - no worries.

How are you doing? Hubby and Sis? All OK - have y'all recovered from the coughs and colds?

@Izzie,
Sis just got back from a week in Nevada--birthday trip provided byher sister-in-law--and is fine. She is better than she has been in a long time.

Hubby and I are doing well too. I'm trying to wind down more from my (self-employed) paying job and hope to do more gardening etc. this summer. Making stuff grow is a long time hobby and therapy for me--I run an intensive care ward for sick plants that my nieces bring to me.

Gardening is a bit more of a challenge here on the high desert than it probably is on your more agreeable green isle, but what the heck. I'll stick some seed in the ground and see if it grows.

Glad you are feeling like being up and about and I imagine you out there walking your mountain.

@djjd62,
Ohwee Didge - how sweet are you? I am Oscar the Grouch! That's what they say anyway! Wink made me laugh! I haven't heard that song in so long...and I really like it...I will be singing it all evening long.

We are playing baseball in the cold tonight....I am not happy about it at all...but play we must! We have already had two rainouts so we must go. Going down to freezing tonight...I know that's nothing compared to you all up north. But we have to have that last cold snap don't we? And it usually comes around Easter when you are wanting to wear your strappy sandals and sundresses....t-t-t-t-too ch-ch-ch-chilly for it though!

Brooke thoughts are with you and your Dad - been praying a lot today.

Iz same for those tootsies and hands...want you to be all better so you can enjoy yourself and at least not be miserable since you are having to work.

Dutchy you back home and settled?

K...I gotta' go get the kids fed and dressed for B-ball. See you all later!

Morning crew, yes mismi the Eagle has landed back home and is trying to pick up where he left off, amazing how the works piles up after a couple of weeks absence. Mrs. D has the whip out so there is no rest for the wicket for a few days! Smile Izzie I've heard from ddxx, so don't worry dear, she's alright. A short week for everybody with the Easter break coming up, hope you find time to do a little posting. Sending heaps of vibes to our Brooklyn and FlavourQueen, hope there are better days ahead for you both.

@Dutchy,
Hey Crew

Oh man.... one of those days " felt poorly for much of the day " huge fatigue " destroys every ounce of energy I have " was lying on the sofa at 6.15pm and had to get presentable <brushed hair> and be over on the moors for 7pm to meet up with Tulip and family " got there and renewed energy, rejuventated energy " had such a lovely time. We went to The Tors at Belstone (as in the fox) and it was wonderful.

http://www.thetors.co.uk/bar.html

http://images.artnet.com/picture.asp?date=20080408&catalog=133811&gallery=110788&lot=00123&filetype=2

Great meal (for someone who doesn’t go out, leave alone eat out) " just, the best. Great company " 8 of us " kids were just brilliant " so grown up and charming children. Great evening. The boys were like 80 year old men whilst chewing the fat (well, cheese board actually <as 11 year olds do Shocked >) " so funny " we could imagine them in 70 years time at the pub telling stories with a glass of port in hand and stilton and cheddar! Bless them.

Tulips babies and Sunshine Boy

http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk41/LzzieIzzie/P1010276.jpg

Tulip and I had a lovely time " she’s SO beautiful.... so so beautiful " looks stunning " and we laughed.... was good to laugh with her. She’s quite amazing. Her Mom makes me crease up " she is completely unique in every way. Love her.

Oh, if y’all could have seen the moors. Belstone is in the middle of the back of beyond " rolling rugged moors, dark and mysterious and the mist was down, the moon is coming up to full " eerie, peaceful, fascinating. The mist rolls across the moors and higher up the clouds were moving so fast across the moon " shining so brightly. Truly a spectacle.

Anyhoo..... on the way back I got a text " strange text " spooked me a bit. Called a couple people when I got in to see if they recognised the number but nope ........ not going to reply to it coz it’s prolly one of those scam texts that you reply to saying “who is this” and then they charge you dosh or something. Weird tho " whoever sent it used my words.... words I have only ever said to two people " one of whom I spoke to and it wasn’t that person. Weird!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hey ho. Spooked me a tad especially because I don’t use my mobile as I have no signal " it only goes off in the car when I drive about 3-4 miles out of the village. Ah well, putting that one to bed now.

So................. whilst we were at the pub " I thought of our DjjD Wink There was a dart board and as soon as I saw it, had to snap him a picture! Could imagine him sitting at the bar sinking a pint or two of Boddies! Razz

http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk41/LzzieIzzie/P1010280.jpg

So, been home for a few hours but had a bunch of things to do " am whacked again " can’t quite get my head around what has happened in Italy " another tragedy.... so sad. Surprisingly, this has not been mentioned on A2K - it's a big thing!!!!!!!!! Really, it is.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/apr/06/italy-earthquake-laquila

The death toll has risen to over 150 ... So tragic.

Thinking of our Babbling, db and Vegemite. Love and hugs and wishes and prayers to all " in whatever way we can do support you all. FQsis off to hospital tomorrow for scan. Fingers crossed all will be OK with her.

Mis " love you girlie " sorry it’s got chilly again down South " you know, when the warm comes to stay it will feel all the better. Have fun at the game.

Hope all our chilly folksies are doing well and our Down Unders are well and happy too..... ohh... just seen the Bosun's post - happy days. Think we're on a quiet voyage right now - or maybe I am just yabbering too much. No worries - it's coco - everyone can jump aboard whenever they wish. Busy busy lives - that's kinda good that days are being filled with worthwhile stuff.

Lovin’ y’all. Really " you are the world to me.

Blue.... just.... BLUE! Hope you jump onboard soon " guess you are out with the sheep on the ranch a? Xox

Hey Izzie, can I borrow your boots? Six + inches of snow here and it's still blowing around. I gotta tell you I'm really disappointed with Spring. Spring's really falling down on the job is all I can say. Harrummph!

Gotta go scrape the car to go to work. See you all later.

@verbivore,
Hey Vegemite - so good to hear you talking. Now…. I’ve put my “hat” on - you mustn’t tell yourself you are pathetic hunni. OK. You aren’t. You have many things to deal with and a whole world of understanding that we don’t in our world - what’s going on in your life is difficult - and when you are rubbing up against the wheels of employment, family, culture and religion - well, it can’t be easy when it spins around for you and you still have to maintain your everyday getting up and going to work and getting home and being a wife. You must try not to come down hard on yourself - you are a wonderful, good, kind young lady who has much to offer the world. Talk when you wish to and only if you are comfortable - but you are right, it comes from within - sometimes that is hard to reconcile. You will tho. You will. Give yourself time. One day, it will click into place and you’ll know what to do. Sometimes the path finds you rather than you finding the path to go down.

The egg decoration is a fabulous idea. Hope you take your camera along and snap some pics. That would be great to see. Please please please.

I don't know where Dev is - haven't seen her for a while either and haven't been facebooking - you can prolly catchup with her there. Might pop by and have a looksee when I get a chance.

BEAgle - how are you? Oh, you might have gone to zzzzzzzz by now. Hope you are fully recovered from your trip now and settling back into city life.

TC - you got MORE snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Omgawd - when will it stop. Yes, I will send you boots…these are like mine - maybe a bit more suitable for the snow

http://www.jileon.com/sm_uploaded_files/PinkPolkaDot5x7LowRes.jpg

What are we now - April 7th …already… OK - let’s hope that was the last snowfall….<please> Gosh - my trees are all flowering now - blossom is everywhere, where the red berries were that the boids were eating, it is white with blossom - tho it rained yesterday and is a bit breezy today, but lots of sunshine popping by thru the clouds. Hoping your spring will return and stay!!!

F-boy is coming over shortly to stay for the nite so need to go and drag a mattress around the house for him to sleep on - which means putting all the stuff lying on top of the spare bed…. somewhere. Mmmmmm…..

Must have posted last nite and fallen asleep on the sofa - woke at 2am and went upstairs to find the little fella by my bed 15 minutes later saying he had a nasty dream. Bless him. Too much cheese before bed methinks Wink

Be back later folksies - good days to all. Lovin’ y’all. x

@Izzie,
Oh My!

I have two very cheeky little fella’s here right now.

They have had the best time. They spent the afternoon in the garden climbing trees and making blowpipes out of bamboo with conifer tips as the feathers on the end of sticks. Did some carvings and some burning in the chiminea - then, it was dinner time. They have laughed and laughed and laughed. They put pencils in their bamboo blowpipes - and proceeded to blow around the house. Hysterically funny - until they decided that using my bahookie as target practice was a good plan Shocked So, so funny little boys.

@Izzie,
Wonderful to see your son and Tulip's son having fun, Izzie.

We also had a little more snow in Chicago on Sunday night and winterlike temperatures. No telling what happened to JPB. Her part of Illinois is trying to emerge from the ice age. Smile
