Oooo, super neat.

My contribution is our mountain a stone's throw or two from our house. This is just one portion of it known as 'the shield', and I didn't take this picture, but last night this is the way the mountain looked. These are the "Sandia Mountains"--'sandia' is the Spanish word for 'watermelon'. And this is why they are so named:

@Foxfyre,
oh FoxyF - gosh - how amazing to be able to see that right next to you - just wonderful. One of the most outstanding places I've ever been to was in Death Valley and the Artist's Pallette <boy, was it hot there!) - it was like someone had spilled some water on a painting and all the colours just faded into one another. Bryce Canyon too.... ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh WOW!

http://able2know.org/topic/118863-1#post-3301988

I still get amazed each day by the things I see and read about. Such a huuuuuge wide world out there to explore.

@djjd62,
Good morning all. Lovely cool wet day here (Friday morning). Had a few days of cooler temps and rain which has helped with the fires and given the poor firefighters a much earned respite. Expecting more for the next few days. Haven't had a chance to read back the posts but hope everyone is okay. Hugs to all and will yabber again soon.

(((Bathy))) … I don’t seem to get around the forum as much these days. At least not till summer break kicks in. The campus owns me most days. I do want you to know that I am so very sorry for all that you are going through. I’m glad you have the yabber liner crew to lean on. They are a great bunch, with good ears for listening and just enough softness to gently guide. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Miz Iz … Always love your pictures! I’m thinkin’ that you could make money at that!

Dj …..Glad you’re getting some warmth, too! It was in the 60’s today. At least down in Columbus, on campus, it was. Not sure what Findlay’s high was. Probably pretty close to that. It’s funny that it is getting warm out and my pond still has some ice on it. Doubt that will last long by the looks of the forecast for the rest of the week. Yipppeeee, spring has sprung!

A big “hey” to you, Verbi! Love your posts!

Deedee…. Good deal on your cooler temps and the bit-a-rain you’re getting!

Hey there, Foxy! What a beautiful pic! I could get used to looking out my window every day and seeing a mountain that beautiful! Good to see ya on the ship!

Dev and Missy…..I hope you guys are feeling better! The crap that’s going around seems to be spreading from state to state. Nasty stuff. Paid my dues with it back in January. No fun.

Dutchy …..I’m curious about your big, exciting news!

FQ…. Dang, girl! It must be sweet getting to travel to such awesome places!

As for me …… this week has been great as far as homework goes. I have written NO reports. We’ll be working on getting ready for quarterly exams coming up the week after next, so things are turning more towards study time. I won’t even have to teach any classes for my assistantship till after spring break. Mega-mega cool.

Anyhoo………hugs for everyone that wants em’. And even those that don’t. Razz

Off to see what’s been going on in the land of A2K. Been forever it seems, since I’ve read the forum.

Glad to hear your studies are going well, what about baby Noah, getting over his set back?
The excitement was yesterday and turned into a fizzer, bread and water for the rest of the week, can't afford anything else, done my dough. Laughing

Izzie thanks for letting us know about mismi, I miss the 'old' gal and can't wait to rile her a little, I think I just did. Laughing

ddxx dry here today but very much on the cool side, amazing State you live in, last week hot and dangerous in the Alps with the fires, yesterday snow! Unbelievable.

Hugs and love from down under, catch you all later.

@Foxfyre,
Been on/in the Sandias (actually the Sandia-Manzano Mountains) a couple of times.
Especially in the evening the light is tremendous (not only for photographers).
(And it's a quite exclusive place to live - if it's not the pueblo Wink )

@verbivore,
Yay for the Blue 2 wheeler - that's a very happy bit of kit - will make life so much easier for you Vegemite! yay yay.

OK - can't yay toooo loud - my head is so sore so I'm whispering - nasty nasty headhurt for a few days! Anyhoooo.... oooooh.... little bit noivous. I'm going to let the kitties out tomorrow which is a little worrying. They desperately want to go out and, for me, not being able to keep doors and windows open in the house is..... not healthy for me - need to hear the outside and get some air flowing round the house. However, having lost Bozzy when we moved here - and knowing how much S-boy will get upset if they go missing (or.... you know).... it's a just a worry. Yesterday I put collars on them (which I don't like but ...) which have nametags with phone numbers and today they are going to the vet to be microchipped.

Ohhhhhhhhhh.... I really want them to go out and explore - the garden and fields are perfect for them - it's just a little worriesome - a) road (albeit a small one) b) foxes, c) buzzards and lots of them - tho the kitties are a decent size now. I'm sure it will be fine - just don't want to see the little fellas heart break again.

Ah well..... we shall see - the kitties will have a good time in the garden <stay away from the boids!!!!!!!!!!!!!> and I have a catflap so they come and go whenever they choose. Shall let them go out hungry to start off with. Ah, just thought, will put this on the kitty thread in case they have any ideas.

Laterz x

Dev ...... Always good to see you, too! But you know that! Glad you're feeling a little better. Hoping each day improves for you!

Verbi - What a sweet scooter! A friend of mine drives a Harley. She looks like a little pixie going down the road on it. She's about my height ( 5'2). It's just soooo much bigger than what she is!

(((( Walter )))) Hey buddy! Good to see you. Sounds like your recent trip was amazing!

Miz Iz - Joining JPB in sending you soft hugs. Take care of yourself and don't overdo. Huggers - huggers - and more huggers! Love you bunches xoxo.

Wishes for a great weekend for all! Stay safe. Hope everyone's weather has improved! It's 65 degrees here right now. And guess what I get to do???? I am heading out to the garage to get the pooper-scooper. Sad It's easier to pick up when it's not so soft n' mushy! Ewwwwwww!

Morning crew, gee what a clever dog you've got Brooke, almost ready to ask you to become my personal trainer. Laughing

Verbivore, wow what a beautiful piece of equipment, and there is me thinking you were talking about a bicycle, as you wanted to shed a few........pounds. Laughing

JPB, hi, been a while since we last met, still enjoying the music scene?

Lastly my dear Captain what have you done to yourself to deserve this nasty head-ache, standing outside in the cold peering at the moon?

Now if the bushfires weren't enough problems for the Victorians what about this. MELBURNIANS may wake to cracked walls after an earthquake hitting 4.6 on the Richter Scale rocked Victoria last night. Volunteer SES crews spent most of the night assessing property damage across the city, after the earth tremor just before 9pm last night.

Will be around for most of the day.

@Dutchy,
Ohhhhhhhhhhh BEAgle….. That’s either a little spooky….. OR I am wholly predictable (that'll be it a?). I hadn’t told you I was outside shooting the moon last nite….. and yesterday afternoon actually…. I have a feeling that “Noddy’s” are being sent out to those who need them recently - and I’m definitely feeling as tho she is around me - seem to have a whole heap of strength from somewhere. Verra strange.

Anyhooooo….. The moon is just incredible right now (well, it’s misty tonite) - but LAST NITE- O.M.Gosh - it was……..

Well…. Here it is - yesterday avo and last nite!

http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk41/LzzieIzzie/DSC08143.jpg

Then, around midnite last nite..

http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk41/LzzieIzzie/DSC08438.jpg

See…… how duber roober cool is that!

As for the headhurt - ack - not sure why it’s bothering me so much - it’s just terribly sore. No worries tho - t’will be fine.

Read on the Victoria thread about the earthquake…. And HH thread about “Cyclone Hamish” coming - just so much is happening to Oz right now. So awful.

So pleased to see our Indeedee is alright and the rest of the A2K Down Unders.

Babbling girl - happy to see you - hope you are going out with girls tomorrow and have some fun - and hope too BabyNoah is blowing HUGE raspberries at everyone. You know…X

Hey Boida - mmmmm…. Methinks I have overdone it a little lately - it’s that thing of - “oooooooo…I feel good” then….. “ohhhhhhhh…. That wasn’t too clever, was it?” The toots aren’t too bad really - I’m “feeling” the big toe more than I should be - so have slapped my wrist and now got the foot up. Plaster should come off in a couple weeks - that will be the telling time - going to be a lot more troubling out of the cast and going to have to be really careful. However, I need to start back to work - school breaks up on 3rd April - so am planning at the moment to go back for the last week of term. Will have to see how things go when I have a nekkid foot!

Ahhh…. The flowers I was sent yesterday from my work colleagues - took some pics of them - was playing! I find the colours … well, can’t really describe it …

This is a Missy Flower - tho she’s very poorly right now…

So……. there we go…. Along with the Mistle Thrush on the Beautiful Animals thread and the flowers - I’ve been getting a whole heap of peace.

The kitties are now chipped and will be going outside prolly tomorrow - still nervous about them taking off - but….. posivibes they will not get skittish.

Tonite - I have done my filing - verra verra proud of myself because I have been procrastinating horribly with it. It does feel so good to have got most of it done - tho there are some straggling bits of paper lying on the floor right now.

Had a little help - or NOT - from the kitties who thought that running from the hall into the lounge and surfing the paperwork was a riot! Little beggars! Maddie dawg fell asleep standing up - she just perches beside me, doesn’t say much, just keeps me company.

K - I’m waffling now!

Haven’t heard from Tulip all week - tried her mobile but it didn’t connect……..mmmmmm..... Will try again tomorrow and see what’s she’s up to.

Okayyyyyy - going to look around and see what’s what!

Hugs to all - hope everyone who’s feeling poorly gets better soon - wishing everyone a great weekend. Missing those who are somewhere, everywhere. x
