@Izzie,
Truth? That's fantastic, especially doing a time exposure while holding manually.

@Izzie,
Morning Izzie, good to see you dropping by and telling us what's happening up your way. Eye ok, apart from being completely blood shoot, so wearing my pirate patch. Seeing the angels next Friday, routine visit etc.

Anybody like tennis? All the big stars are downunder and have replaced the cricket on TV. I'm looking forward seeing John McEnroe take on Ivan Lendl who has come out of retirement to play in my home town.

All the action is around here with the Tour down Under, the equivalent of the Tour de France in miniature, coming past my backdoor with the great Lance Armstrong participating in his last race.

Time for a cuppa, Earl Grey. Smile

@roger,
Oooh Thank you Roger

there's a couple more here with change of perpsective: http://picasaweb.google.com/izzielzzie454/LewtrenchardManor#
but ... yes, attempted to hold the camera with 3 bracketed shots - the exposure in raw was running at 2.5 to 5 seconds each as the light was fading; holding a camera STILL for 7.5 - 15 seconds, with my hands.... haahahha - no chance! Wibbly wobbly, misaligned and blurry. Getting there tho - experimenting. Thank you.

BEAgle - do enjoy the tennis - you know I'm an avid fan. Get some pics of the Tour Down Under if you get the chance. Would love to see. Take care.

Just had a cuppa... now... must go lay down - ha, only been up 3 hours and can't keep my eyes open Rolling Eyes Work tomorrow so need to rest up today. Catchy'all later. xx

@Izzie,
Well, Izzie, I'll tell you how good your photo was. It made me cold, gal. You're a bounce-backer girl.

Still the "Dancing Queen" and Mismi is still the "Dixie Queen". Sheeeeze, what I wouldn't give for some hydro-therapy.

Some wealthy dude bought this famous spa and restored it.

I do like the movement in those photos, Iz. Verry coool!

Thanks for all the good wishes. Len is improving - but still in a lot of pain from 6 broken ribs and a titanium plated collar bone (or something!), amongst other things. He's having trouble sleeping as he can't lie down because of pain, so naps all night and a good part of the day sitting up in a chair. He was very lucky to do as little damage as he did (although that's enough) - could easily have been a road accident statistic of the most serious kind!

Some of his humour has returned, though!

@margo,
That is good news margo, thanks for letting us now. Have you been watching the TV news about the Queensland floods? Devastating isn't, now appears a number of people have drowned overnight as well and Brisbane is being evacuated. http://www.couriermail.com.au

@Dutchy,

That was leading on our TV news this morning: extremely sad. Rain still pouring down, situation worsening.
They mentioned that the rain was too heavy at times for helicopters to take off.
Unimaginably bad.

@McTag,
Yes McTag things are very grim presently and there is more flooding to come if the forecasters got their predictions right. Here is another series of photos to give you an idea what people are up against. http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2011/01/australian_flooding.html
Things have not improved in the areas shown but infact worsened a lot more in the last couple of days.

@Dutchy,
Thinking of all those dealing with floods. Are any of our A2Kers in this area of Oz?

We were forecast to get 2-4" of snow, which was troubling because Mr B and I are both medically prohibited from shoveling at the moment. It looks like we're going to be closer to 8-10. Mr B shoveled earlier (even though he isn't supposed to), but it's coming down hard with no end in site. Not quite sure what we're going to do to dig out. He'll probably go out again later, while I fuss and mutter.

@JPB,
Morning JPB, the only A2Ker I know in Queensland is Hingehead. He posted some pictures last night but did not say if he was threatened. http://able2know.org/topic/43890-131#post-4473696

I hope the snow in your area doesn't get as bad that you are forced to shovel snow, remember Dr's orders, your health goes before anything else. You just keep on muttering. Smile

OOOh, lotsa chatter! That's wonderful to see. Had work today - home - bed. Both legs collapsing and not a swig has passed my lips! Wink

Anyhoo - there is lots and lots of reporting here on Oz BEAgle... absolutley soul destroying for all those good folk - so very, very sad. Please could you do me a favour - my family is over in Marlborough in Queensland (102K N of Rockhamton) - they have a big ranch (Brahmins) - can't find any details where I've been looking.

My cousin (upteen times removed) - her son was getting married there this weekend, so all the N.Devon family are out there and we can't get hold of them. If you can find out any info re Marlborough, that would be great (ranch is called Wandilla - I stayed with them when I was backpacking in '88 - Lee got me to eat praerie oysters, as the cattle were de-boll*cked, straight off the BBQ - gag Razz. No worries if you can't, will continue to surf the www.

MARGO - fab news about Len getting back his sense of humour - but whoooooooooa - not too much laughing - nasty broken ribs - that's gotta hurt. Hope he's strapped up. He was lucky. Thinking of you too Margo - hope you're OK.

Gotta go to bed soon - work tomorrow - the flub jab. So many staff and kids off sick - sooooooooooooooooo poorly they are - dreadful this flu is!

Hugs to y'all ((((((Letty, Boida, JPB, MaMaVerby, Taggers))))))))

JPB - if I hear you've picked up a shovel... well, ya don't want me to come over there do ya..... <puts on frowny face> - PUT THE SHOVEL DOWN AND THE LEG UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Izzie,
No worries! I don't think I'd get past the first shovelful before my leg would snap. Nope, nope, nope. No shovelling for me. Mr. B just finished with round two. I fussed and muttered like a champ, which I'm sure is what saved him. He says we're at about 6-7" so far. Hopefully,we'll be done with it soon.
Rest well, Iz. Have a nice evening.

@JPB,
I am sorry to report that the big event was really a non-event. We got a lot of ice. Not enough snow for the boys to even play in. What was there got freezing rain on top of it so it was hard as a rock. We just had to stay inside and keep warm and hope that no branches broke and knocked out a power line. We kept our power thankfully. We went in to school late this morning because of the ice and will go in late again tomorrow.

So disappointing.

Hugs to you all.

@Izzie,
Hi Izzie. Have contacted a friend of mine in Queensland regarding your request, will get back to you as soon as I learn something. Beagle is watching the procedures on TV, it is just heartbreaking to watch. More deaths and now 90 people are missing.

@mismi,
Thank you mismi, we are a long way (2000 miles) from the floods, but the whole nation will be affected. The damage bill so far is 12 Billion Dollars and all their crops are destroyed. They are predicting our food prices will rise by a massive 50% in coming months. Nature is strange, massive flooding up north, and a drought and bush fires in the west destroying 40 houses overnight.
