@mismi,
I've been watching the flooding on the news here...it's terrible. Sad Hoping you and yours are safe and well Dutchy.

mismi, have your boys been back to school yet? I've also been following the weather in the south, you've been hit hard. I think we will be having our first snowday of the year tomorrow. Expecting 10-15 inches.

@Stormwatch,
I live in a valley in the foothills...so we managed to get missed...but just north of us where the elevation is higher, they got a lot of snow. Beautiful. I am seeing all the pictures of friends that live just 30 minutes north of me and am SO jealous. We missed one day of school because of all the ice. We will go in late tomorrow to give it time to thaw...It's just messy here now. yuck.

Stay warm Stormy. You are going to have a lot it sounds like!

@Dutchy,
Oh Dutchy - such a sobering situation. Truly. And there's nothing you can do. Nature unleashes. Makes me feel hollow.

@mismi,
Snow day, about a foot so far. It's still coming down pretty heavy.

I suppose I should get outside and shovel the deck off Sad

@Stormwatch,
Great idea Stormy, you need the exercise. Smile Does it prevent you from driving to work or are the roads cleared? Take care.

@Dutchy,
Ha Ha ...smartass

School was closed today so I didn't have to drive anywhere. It's still coming down and I have no plans of going anywhere unless I have to.

After shoveling the deck twice and the walkways, I started to clear the end of the drivway where it had been plowed in. The bank was about 3 1/2 feet high. I was chipping away at it and a neighbor came by with his tractor to scoop it out, thankfully. It would have taken me a long time! Much more exercise then I need today!

@Dutchy,
Someone on the news said the flooded area was twice the size of the state of Texas here in the US. That's an amazing amount of acreage.

Between the massive wildfires and now this heavy rainfall and flooding, the eastern half of Australia has really been hit hard by mother nature.

@mismi,
I've always said verbivore is the beautiful star of the East, no wonder Eby found her and is looking so happy. Little Hrehaan has the good looks of both his parents. Thanks for posting Harbourmaster.

I scanned the headlines quickly this morning and didn't see an update on the Oz flooding. Hopefully that means things are stabilizing there.

I was in a mall yesterday for the first time since Christmas. At that time, I wasn't able to walk the length of the mall and had to give up and go home. Yesterday, I was able to walk the length of both levels and wander around a few stores. PROGRESS!!! My leg and foot ached a bit last night, but nothing like before. I'm not convinced that it's ever going to fully heal, but at least I can see some improvement.

Thinking of our captain today and sending hugs and love.

Happy Friday, all. I hope y'all have a great day.

Avast there me hearties, which I assume comes from the Dutch 'vasthouden'
A word if I may for the Cap'n o' the ship to address her loyal crew of fine sturdy mates, fit to sail the seven seas with the spirit of true camaraderie.

Due to me being the second to post on this thread anall, I claim second in command; not because last night my paramour gave me a schnoggin that I will not soon forget.
Or it may be said either by Missy or the guy I sat on when I fell reaching for bad popcorn in big buckets in which portion size can influence intake as much as taste... when talking about a vast - "Get your vast ass offer me!"

I am now officially on a diet! I will report back when I have shed the first 100 pounds.

Justine Prudence Bathsheba JPB, I am gratified by your determined progress. I would indeed walk a 100 miles for one of your smiles. I know it's only 20% of what the Proclaimers would have done for you, but then they did not leave as many body parts as I at the Battle of Shiloh.

Stormy, belated new decade wishes, may it be less turbulent than the last and that you may be accorded full acknowledgement for your dedication towards the next generation.

Veggy, what can I say! .....You look far too slim, eat more - get well!

Keep your powder and feet dry Dutchy.

Cheer up Margo your boys dun allright at cricket!

Make it a great weekend all; just do it!

@JPB,
JPB, the sun has returned to the flooded areas setting the scene for a gigantic clean up. Will take many months even years to get back to normal. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/breaking-news/blue-skies-from-mackay-to-goondiwindi/story-fn7il3q4-1225988169066

What in the WORLD did you just say? What is Schnoggin? I think I will have to go have a couple of shots before I can understand that. Wink

JPB! That is so good to hear! That has to be encouraging. ((JPB))

Izzie - My thoughts and prayers - HUGELY with you.
Love you dear woman.
