Czech mate - Ahoj!

My son has become engaged to his Czech mate, and I want to be able to use some phrases to impress her family when I meet them this summer. I started trying to learn the language properly but was completely daunted by the case system. So I am lowering my sights now. i know the days of the week and the months....

Anyone out there converse in Czech with me? Jak se mas? Dikuji!
