Literal translation: I wish to be/become your benificial/good friend

My interpretations:

I wish to be the one who can help you especially in the spiritural aspect, who can bring you good or happiness.

Or, more definitely

I want to study the Bible together with you. And I assume I've read more than you, so I'm glad to share what I've learned. And I sincerely hope what I do can help you.

So my question becomes "How to express naturally the meaning of "yi you"".
(I guess I am looking for some phrase more expressive than your helpful friend.)

Can you look up the meaning of "mentor" and see if it fits?

In this particular case, it might be better to substitute "helpful" for "beneficial", if I am understanding the meaning you want to convey.

Mentor would be good. A friend with benefits certainly won't read the
bible with you.

Hmm, yes, helpful seems better than beneficial, but it has not much implication of religion.

Friend and mentor kinda seems OK.
