Does anyone here have experience of severe trigeminal neuralgia?
On only a few occasions have I been slightly involved in the treatment from the technology point. I worked in Neuroradiology for 8 years at a university hospital. It's been a while though and I'm sure treatments have changed.
SOmetimes it's hard to distinguish this from a severe toothache.
Also consider temporomandibular joint problems.
Thanks to both of you. The severe trigeminal is a definite diagnosis and temporal arteritis is now also being investigated so your suggestion was very relevant, Miller, thx. No jaw problems though but have some other symptoms.
Are you seeing a neurologist or a neurosurgeon for this?

Also found this web-site.
Yes, have been seeing a neurologist and urgent appt now booked for a different neurologist. But none of the pain compares with what one's family can do to hurt. Thx.

Hope someone can let you know how this painful condition can be eased and give you information on how best to deal with your pain.

Thx Izzie, you are very sweet and kind. I'll contact you again soon, just in such misery at the moment, with illness and family problems. x
