Recap of Hiama's question:

A man picks up a water goblet and critically examines the water spots on it. He calls a waitress to show her the dirt on the glass. She apologizes, cleans it with her apron, and places it back on the table. He takes a menu.

1970's - clue - it's tough out there

Not Easy Rider
Five Easy Pieces

Waiting for Hiama to reply to guesses:
Straight Time - Mac
Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore- EOE

The Defiant Ones?

(Actually that was more info than required so I don't know if you should reveal if it is before or after 1960 -- oldie or in-betweener).

Thats the one, I had about ten walk on parts in that film, you can imagine our excitement when we went to see it to find that every scene that my pal and me should have been in had been cut. My dreams of stardom dashed at just thirteen.

Sorry to hear that, Kev. What a disappointment! But Moonspinners never became a smash hit anyway. That's what they deserved for cutting your parts. Laughing

Oldie - before 1960
Inbetweener - 1960 to 1980
Newbie - 1981 to present

Inbetweener

Folks from a farm community meet for a Sunday dance. A folk melody is played, polka-style, and they take to the floor - on Roller Skates - gliding and stumbling in complete abandon.
