I don't remember an opera scene in Fatal Attraction. Glenn Close's character listened to a recording but, did she actually attend?

20/21?. The Unsinkable Molly Brown

Glenn Close never got to "Madame Butterfly" in the movie. I think, but am not positive, that she had the tickets, but she never got there. I remember she was very upset about not going. Laughing

So, we'll make The Unsinkable Molly Brown (I'll be darned if I can remember an opera in that one, but I'll take your word for it, eoe), number:

Remember when they showed the snippets of Molly in Europe? There was one where she, JJ and the royals were in a box seat. We only heard the opera singers onstage but there was Molly, dressed to the nines, twirling her opera glasses and whistling. Remember? And JJ looked very bored and sad. This was before he abandoned her and came back to the States alone.

eoe - I recorded "Molly" not too long ago so I plopped the DVD in. Sure enough, there was Molly in the box next to the Frenchman with Johnny standing behind her, and a baritone warbling a few lines of The Barber of Seville (I think) in the background. Laughing

Dorothy Parker: No problem. Very Happy

I never doubted it for one minute, eoe. Laughing

Now, I would have sworn there was on opera scene in "Hannah and Her Sisters", but I ran it through quickly and couldn't find one. They just talked about it, I guess.

25. Madame Bovary

The Bovary's attend a performance at the opera house in Rouen. In the book, the opera is Lucia di Lammermoor -- I can't remember if it's the same in the movie.
