I never knew that! (This game is so educational...)

5 p.m. Friday is finally here (almost), so I'm leaving shortly. Have a good weekend.

I like the new format Raggedy used for her "card game" question (movie titles with words relating to a common theme), so I'm going to use it for the next question.

One movie title for each of these actors (except Kevin Kline, who has two) will give you an idea as to what they would have experienced, if they had been in the Northeast for the past few months:

Gabriel Byrne
Kevin Kline (twice)
Michael Keaton
Jeff Bridges

Gabriel Byrne - Cool World or perhaps Smilla's Sense of Snow?
Kevin Kline - Ice Storm and The Big Chill
Michael Keaton - Jack Frost
Jeff Bridges - The Iceman Cometh, perhaps Cold Feet, but surely not Winter Kills

I was thinking of Smilla's Sense of Snow for Gabriel Byrne, but Cool World would have been good too, if I'd thought of it. And I wish I'd thought of The Iceman Cometh (or even Cold Feet) for Jeff Bridges, but I was in truth thinking of Winter Kills!

I'm too tired to keep my eyes open right now, so I'll have to think about this question tomorrow (actually, later today).

For a while there, I thought Raggedy had a "spring flowers" theme going with that question, with Rhapsody in Bloom (Silver), Roses are Red (Chandler), and Brother Orchid (Bogart). But a little bird finally told me I was on the wrong track.

After the movie, William Hurtt suggested I visit another place where I'd see

1. Rare Birds (Hurt)

such as

2. The White Raven (Silver)

3. The Maltese Falcon (Bogart)

4. Sweet Bird of Youth (Newman)

5. Bird of Paradise (Chandler)

You got them all, Bree. No spring flower thing going on here, but a pleasant thought. I wanted to find a Bluebird of Happiness, but didn't have any luck.

I'm off to meet an out-of-town friend for dinner. Depending on how much wine we consume, I may or may not be back after dinner with a new question.

Oh, I did! We had just the right amount of wine: enough to give me an idea for a new question, but not so much as to interfere with my ability to type it.

Are you doing anything this Thursday? I'm throwing a party, and the invitation list includes:

1. Betty Grable

2. Judy Garland

3. Burt Lancaster

4. Denzel Washington

and

5. Joanne Dru (twice)

Oh, a party! Love a good party, but first I have to learn more about your other guests. Now, I don't want to sound snobbish or anything like that, but one does have to be careful, you know. I'll check it out and let you know if I'll attend.

Well, I guess I'll just have to tell you the guests that meet with my approval and, if you don't approve, maybe we can work something out that is satisfactory to both of us.

Since Thursday is St. Patrick's Day, I think it only fitting that we invite:

Sweet Rosy O'Grady - Betty Grable
Little Nelly Kelly - Judy Garland
His Majesty O'Keefe - Burt Lancster
Abie's Irish Rose - Joanne Dru - The Pride of St. Louis would be fun, too.
The Mighty Quinn - Maybe - I definitely will not attend if
The Shocking Miss Pilgrim(Grable) and The Preacher's Wife (Washington) are seated at the same table.

If you're not celebrating St. Patrick's Day, may I suggest some men from that group.

Or have you already made up your mind?

What kind of a hostess do you think I am?

You got them all, except Duffy of San Quentin (the second Joanne Dru title I was thinking of), who has promised to be there if he can get a furlough for the day.

What other guests did you have in mind?

Oh, goodie. I'll attend your St. Patrick's Day Party with rings on my fingers and bells on my toes.

I thought it would be nice if Betty Grable brought "Man About Town" and Burt Lancaster brought "Ten Tall Men". I changed my mind about Joan Dru's "All the Kings Men", as royalty can be a might stuffy at times.

It's sleepy time here now, and I feel pretty certain you can say the same for there, so I'll post a question first thing in the morning.

Sweet dreams.
