New Story:

It was love at first sight. From the first moment he saw the

1. the sumptuous temptress

he knew that they

2. were cast from the same mold

and that they were

3. put on this earth to rock and roll

their nights away at

4. the community hall where he and his buddies from Wyoming often met for laughs and a drink or two.

It was love at first sight. From the first moment Jimmy Stewart saw

1. The Gorgeous Hussy

he knew that they were

2. Made for Each Other

and that they were

3. Born to Dance

their nights away at

4. The Cheyenne Social Club.

You almost had me thinking it was Henry Fonda, what with The Cheyenne Social Club (which was the first movie I got, thanks to that "Wyoming" clue) and the tie-in to Barbara Stanwyck in The Lady Eve!

Yes to Jimmy Stewart and all the movies. My tie-in was Jean Arthur ( You Can't Take It With You).

I figured the Cheyenne Social Club would be the give away. Very Happy

I give up. I've been trying to come up with a new question ever since I posted my answer, over an hour ago, and I've got nothing. There's clearly no point in continuing to try tonight. Maybe inspiration will come to me tomorrow, or maybe the well is finally dry.

Your post reminds me of what one of my college professors used to say, when he advised us not to stay up late cramming the night before an exam: "Better a clear, empty mind than a full, fuzzy one." Well, I'm here with a (relatively) clear mind, but it's pretty empty of brilliant, innovative ideas!

The only idea I have for a new variation on this game is questions about "title words in common". For example, I can think of an actor who has been in three movies, all of which have the word "money" in the title. The only problem is, there may be several actors of whom that could be said, despite the fact that I can think of only one at the moment. What do you think?

I think its a great idea. Let's give it a try.

It won't matter how many actors might fit the question, our job is to find the one that the person asking the question has in mind.

I have one other idea that I'm working on, but my mind is "fuzzy".

Well, you know the actor I'm thinking of in the case of the "money" question, so we can't use that one! I'll try to think of a different one after lunch.

You'll see me tomorrow, Raggedy -- tonight I'm going to a concert celebrating the songs of Fats Waller and Dorothy Fields (a strange combination, but the excuse is that he would have been 100 years old in 2004, and she would have been 100 years old in 2005). Dorothy Fields wrote the lyrics for A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, so maybe I'll hear a song or two from that show for the second time in a week!

Awesome plans tonight, it will be great tunes!

Oh, and I like the new variation!

Good pick, Wandeljw!

I'm off to a meeting with the President of a local college! Schmooze schmooze!
