Yay, Raggedy! It's Citizen Kane. Kane is the only person who thinks his mistress has any talent as a singer, so he builds an opera house for her and makes the poor woman appear in an opera, even though it's apparent to everyone but him that she can't sing at all.

Oldie

While walking with a male companion, a young woman gazes longingly at a hat in a shop window. She tells him she has had her eye on it for some time. He talks her into looking at it, but when they go into the shop, another woman has the hat on and is looking in the mirror. Without any hesitation he convinces the woman who is prepared to buy the hat (with a few gestures and grimaces) that it is unattractive and inappropriate for her. When the young woman returns home to her husband she is wearing the hat.
