It was the doctor that gave it away. I suddenly saw Brando.

I loved that movie.
Inbetweener:
While wheeling his dad's chair near the shore he tries to explain the meaning of his life and suddenly breaks down in tears, but his dad isn't able to reply to him.
Good guess, but Nothing in Common is not the movie I'm looking for.
I'm logging off now, but plan to check in early tomorrow.
I have no idea, but to get a clue, I'll guess:
Coming Home?
Star Wars?
Not: Coming Home or Star Wars
So, here's a clue:
During a traffic jam up, he spots a piano on a moving van. He jumps aboard the van and starts playing the piano.
yes..., yes..., I know, ergh!
5 Easy Pieces!
Yes. Yes. You are correct. It's Five Easy Pieces
NEWIE
Two casually dressed young men in a dingy office. The Brunette sits at a desk. The Blonde stands and they laugh and have a friendly conversation.
The Blonde comments on a "little black book" lying on the desk. Suddenly without any transition, the blond takes out a gun and shoots the brunette in the head.
The killer takes the gun and places it in the dead mans hand to stage a "suicide", but as he does this, the gun fires by mistake and we hear a woman scream through the wall from another office, next door. The murderer looks at the wall and sees a bullet hole.
This is familiar, but.....
Still thinking about it.
Tomorrow Never Dies
Die Another Day
I'd like a clue now, please.

Clue: It's an old office building in Los Angeles
Not:
Blade Runner
Gross Point Blank
Tomorrow Never Dies
Die Another Day
