Yes it is, Raggedy! I loved that movie.
Take it away --
Oldie (very old)
Unemployed singing waiter encourages his young daughter to be a writer. He watches her fall asleep, heads out to find a job and never comes home again.
Since I'm leaving now and won't be back until tomorrow afternoon, please feel free to set my question aside and go on with the game.
Here's one in the meantime:
INBETWEENER
The man and woman kiss. The make their way upstairs, together. Two little dogs follow them. He kicks them aside and they tumble down the stairs. They continue their tryst in the bedroom. They do not know that his former lover is outside, watching through a window.
I know I didn't see this one. I'd remember a guy kicking two little pups down the stairs.

Quick! Someone call the ASCPA!
Raggedy, since we haven't gone anywhere yet on this one, do you want to do yours?
OH! To Raggedy's clue:
A Tree Grows in Brooklyn?
Oh, right, EOE raggedy did do one!

Yes to A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. Do you have a scene for us, EOE?
We could keep both questions going if you wish.
I don't have a scene ready. Let's continue with fealola's question.
Would you like to throw out 3 wild guesses or should I cut to the chase and give a hint?

The Crying Game?
The Pajama Game?
The Spy Game?
(how's that for wild guesses?)
Nah, unless the other guys want a hint now. Somebody throw out some guesses. My mind is blank.

Not:
The Crying Game
The Pajama Game
The Spy Game
Hint: The kissing couple are: A young soldier and a prostitute.
Saw the hint, but all it makes me think of is From Here to Eternity, which was pre-1960 and therefore an oldie, not an inbetweener.
