I need some serious help. I took Latin years ago and did very badly but I did enough to know when something isn't right. (The online Latin translation engines are really not very good as they fail to show inflection and tenses, etc.) I would love to have a song translated into Latin. Can somebody please help?
The lyrics are from Athair ar Neamh, a song by Enya. The original is in Irish Gaelic. Thanks so much way in advance.
Father In Heaven
Father in Heaven, God bless us
Father in Heaven, God bless me
My soul, my heart, my glory,
praise to you, God.
Long is the peaceful day
Long is the night without gloom
Delight, joy, love,
praise to you, God.
I glorify you day after day.
I glorify you night after night.
Father in Heaven, God bless us
Father in Heaven, God bless me
The moon, the sun, the wind,
praise to you, God.
Father In Heaven
Pater in caelis
Father in Heaven, God bless us
Pater in caelis, Deus nos benedicat
Father in Heaven, God bless me
Pater in caelis, Deus me benedicat
My soul, my heart, my glory,
Anima mea, cor meum, gloria mea,
praise to you, God.
laus tibi, Deus.
Long is the peaceful day
Longus dies pacificus est
Long is the night without gloom
Longa nox sine obscuritate est
Delight, joy, love,
Delectatio, gaudeum, caritas,
praise to you, God.
laus tibi, Deus.
I glorify you day after day
In diem de die te magnifico
I glorify you night after night.
In noctem de nocte te magnifico .
Father in Heaven, God bless us
Pater in caelis, Deus nos benedicat
Father in Heaven, God bless me
The moon, the sun, the wind,
Luna, sol, ventus,
praise to you, God.
laus tibi, Deus.
George, you are the BEST! I have been trying to get that done for at least three years now. Hee hee, thank you, thank you, thank you!
