I haven't seen you around today, Izzie. So I haven't been able to say good morning/afternoon/evening to you.

I really hope all is OK at your end. (Just a little worried ....)

Cheers,
Olga

@msolga,
Hi msolga, dear Izzie is ok, just snowed in. Posted on the yabber-liner thread a little while ago and will be back there later. Hit 43.9 this afternoon but the long awaited change is now arriving late tomorrow afternoon. Worry is the bush-fires as it will be very hot (40+) first up followed by strong winds ahead of the change. Keeping fingers crossed all goes well.

@Dutchy,
Thanks for that, Dutchy. I was a wee bit woriied ...

Do you think praying might bring the cool change on earlier? Rain, even? Hell, I'll break a lifetime's habit for a bit of relief from this! Wink

@Izzie,
Good morning Izzie and msolga, if we don't hear from you olgs I know you're without power in Melbourne, really tragic what has occurred in your State. As I stated in my previous post the prevailing weather conditions worried me greatly. I've experienced the 1955 bushfire (Black Sunday) and the 1983 bushfire (Black Wednesday) and the weather was exactly as that of yesterday.

Good morning, Izzie & Dutchy.
I'm relieved to hear you're on the mend, Iz. I was concerned. Not like you to be so scarce around these parts!
Yeah, Dutchy the fires are absolutely devastating. Ah Victoria! Sad

@msolga,
hi to all : downunder - across the pond - wherever you are !

the british isles snowbiund , bushfires in australia .. what's this world coming to ?

we had a pretty cold january - overnight temps down to minus 25 C - daytime highs struggling to reach minus 15 C .
cold , but still not as cold as it used to be from 1956 (when we arrived here) to about 1980 - it was COLDER than , we've just gotten a litle soft these last 20 winters .

"wiarton willie " the official "winter's end" forecaster has promised us another six weeks of winter - drat !

Six more weeks of winter, groundhogs say

CTV.ca News Staff

Like the movie of the same name, this Groundhog Day has seen the same sad message repeat itself: we're in for six more weeks of winter.

Gwen Gilbert, the mayor of Wiarton, listens as Wiarton Willie makes his winter weather forecast.

so we'll keep the "longjohns" on and the winterboots generously coated with "genuine mink-oil" and keep warm !
a stiff drink (hot -if necesary) helps too ! (so i've been told) .
you all take care !

@msolga,
Hey Msolga.......... oh jeez girl - can't stop thinking about you and the Down Unders right now - wish we had PM's back.

I'm going in for surgery and may have to leave tomorrow - but hoping I will be able to get online whilst in hospital - at the least, have my email. If you look in my profile there is a blind email address there which can use at any time. Don't you be worrying about me - Dutchy will keep you informed - JUST KEEP SAFE and know how much we love y'all down there. Take care - check in when you can. x
