the british isles snowbiund , bushfires in australia .. what's this world coming to ?
we had a pretty cold january - overnight temps down to minus 25 C - daytime highs struggling to reach minus 15 C .
cold , but still not as cold as it used to be from 1956 (when we arrived here) to about 1980 - it was COLDER than , we've just gotten a litle soft these last 20 winters .
"wiarton willie " the official "winter's end" forecaster has promised us another six weeks of winter - drat !

so we'll keep the "longjohns" on and the winterboots generously coated with "genuine mink-oil" and keep warm !
a stiff drink (hot -if necesary) helps too ! (so i've been told) .
