I will get some in the morning.
If drano does not solve the leak in the pipe where the pieces connect, should I seal it?
Draino won't fix the leak it will fix the clog. If you unclog it (somehow) the water will move better and less water will be standing in the drain to leak out, it will simply pass by the leak.
You may need to bu a snake but really some oldtimer will have one if you can get him to lend it to you. You really should now how to use one and teach your kids. You will save lots of money and headaches in the long run.

It is leaking like a so******abitch now
Is the little clear plastic ring in it? When you screw it down this little ring tightens around the other pipe and maks a seal. When you understand it you can make it work better for you.
Dearie, If your pipes are not sealed, DO NOT PUT DRANO in.
The little clear washers seal each joint.
Blockage reveals leaks, but you need to fix them before you pour acid in to leak on you and what is under yer sink.
Sorry, I got sagna in the oven.

I'm not like other men.

I'm like a superman. And I know women can do everything men can do around the house. I am an advocate of it.
Sorry, I did not mean to go quiet..
I just tried to tighten the ring more and it seems to be as tight as it will be.
I am turning it counter clockwise and yes the ring is in place.
I figured out that the ring created the seal the first time I put it on because all of the water came rushing out and forced the pipe right off HA!
After going through that, I re-tightened it and it is leaking more then before
should I re-do it?
Yeah, I like it when they mow the lawn as well....
(sigh)
thanks for the help, but I have to sign off for right now.
Dont worry.
I wont do anything to the pipe, nor will I use drano just yet.
Tomorrow.. ? same time?
Go to Home Depot, and get some new washers...
Bring one to match, or send a man...

Even men take one to match...
Parts rule #1. ALWAYS take the bad part with you.
Amigo wrote:Parts rule #1. ALWAYS take the bad part with you.
rule #2, if you take the old part to somewhere like home depot and ask the clerk if he/she has one just like it, he/she will say "I dunno, what's the sku number?"

True. If you have a mom and pop hardware store (or plumbing supply store) and IF it is not staffed only by sullen teenagers on the weekend, you might find someone both knowledgeable and helpful.

I used to work there. I used to pretend I knew what I was talking about when I was 18.
Oh man, I must have caused some horrible messes.
I was 18. I wanted to be a man.
If I could go back I would. I'm trying to make up for it.
Get some Teflon tape as well shewolf. The white tape is good for girls.

They have pink.
But she doesn't need any of that, does she?
Pink teflon is better but needs experience. White teflon is much more forgiving in the amount you use.
And there I was, thinking that shewolf was
joking.
