The Fates conspired against me yesterday. Drop in guests arrived and stayed and stayed and stayed and stayed.

These spontanous People from Porlock were from Mr. Noddy's side of the family and I didn't feel as though I could Do My Thing without causing family friction on the family grapevine.

Today I have a Medical Morning (more wax in my ears) but this afternoon....

Jan 16,Jan 9, Jan 3 -- biceps, triceps, quads, hamstrings (check)
Jan 10, Jan 4 -- treadmill 4.0 miles with varying elevation, 630 calories avg, 67 mins avg (check)
Jan 11, Jan 5 -- calves, gluts, inner and outer thighs (ckeck)

Ran the first eleven minutes easy, then picked up the intensity for
eighteen minutes. Back to cruise control for another ten minutes.

Did my stretching exercises and a bit of bouncy-bouncy and started sneezing. Cycled any way.

Weather is coming--more weather.

I figured out where 1000 miles would take me. From Central Park by the statue, going North, my turnaround point will be a couple of miles outside of Devereaux, Maine. Map

I start tomorrow rain or shine.

I like this idea. I'm off on a one-way run to Georgia via Rt. 1.
I got to North Attleboro, MA this afternoon.
I hope to be in Rhode Island by week's end.

I wonder where you guys will meet. I predict Hartford.

20 reps. Did arms today. Situps (which I'm doing every day) continue to get easier. Had a good time yelling out the reps while I was doing my thing (I was listening to Depeche Mode at the time).

And, everybody's doing great! You're all inspiring me. Thank you.

I expected to be a wreck today, after boxing and total body workout classes yesterday. But I also ran a mile after the classes (they say it's good to do that after a class), I stretched, jumped into sauna for 20 minutes, and took ibuprofen before bed. I feel my quads walking up and down the stairs, but that's it.
Did eliptical and weights today, feeling fine fine fine. Taking it easy till Monday (doing workouts like today till then), when the three day heavy duty workout marathon happens again.

My quads had been bothering me for a few days and before that would signal to me, okay, you're done, stop exercising and don't come back for another 10 years.

But this time I continued working out.

And now the pain's gone away.

PS Less cramps in the female monthly department, too, if yanno what I mean.

George--

Great runners deserve extra weather and your running efforts were rewarded.

Dag--

Reading your exercise schedule makes me feel like a cowering couch potato.

Cyphercat--

Good.

Jes--

Good and double good. Twenty reps. What next, belly dancing?

*****

I'm snowed in and a bit feverish as well, but my New Year's Investments are allowing me No Excuses.

Not liking the sounds of being feverish, noddy. Don't push yourself.

Easy day today. Just loped around the perimeters of the local parking
lots for about two and a half miles.

Didn't go. Don't think I will. Sigh.

I definitely felt crappier yesterday -- post-exercising -- than I have at other times since I got sick, and it lasted throughout the day rather than easing up after a period of crappiness in the morning. So while I fell badly about it (I want to exercise and keep up my short but spotless record), I'm trying to convince myself that it doesn't help anything if I just make myself sicker.

Monday.

45 minutes in the pool this morning - followed by a good breakfast - enough exercise for one day .

Definitely no sense in making oneself sick/sicker.

One thing I've noticed is that I had had some stress rash on my left wrist and now it's almost gone. I also slept better last night than I have in months. I do believe I'm getting the stress relieving bounce that I really never had before with exercise.

Today was another abs day and I felt it. But -- right now -- I am wearing jeans over long johns. And they are about an inch loose in the waist. Yay!

My first goal is a different pair of jeans that are a lil small for me. Haven't tried them yet; I probably won't for another month or so.

Aww feel better Joe.

Last night we went out to eat. Now, we go out to eat every week, but this time I was conscious of everything, and wrote it all down. And I did very well, if I do say so myself.

We went to Pizzeria Uno and they are extremely transparent when it comes to nutritional information in their foods. As in, serving size, fat, calories, cholesterol, fiber, sugar, everything. Had the rosemary chicken with a side of brown rice and grilled vegs, a pepper shrimp quesadilla for appetizer and a side salad with low fat blueberry vinaigrette dressing, plus tea with lemon and sweetener. I ate half the entree and did not feel deprived. In fact, I still haven't eaten since then and it's been over 12 hours.

I realize that there's a weight loss topic, but it's a very, very long topic and I'm trying to keep everything in one place.

Anyway, did 20 reps with the resistance bands already, but nada else so far (it's early yet). Will probably take the resistance bands downstairs to do in front of the TV.

No pain anywhere, and got another decent night's sleep but not as good as the previous one.
