@George,
Five good strong laps today. Just me and trackmom. We're going to time ourselves on Wednesday, we're curious about how fast we've been going lately.

ehBeth, looking forward to more recital pics! How did the whole thing go? Did you have fun?

Another four-miler in gorgeous autumn weather!

Two-Mile Mike has decided to lift rather than run. He says he can actually see
results from weightlifting, but never improves in running. I wonder what role
body type plays in this. Mike is a big guy and very strong. I am neither of
those. I suspect that if I were to lift just as hard and just as often as Mike I
would not see anywhere near the results that he does. I can't prove it though,
because there's no way I'm spending all my exercise time indoors at this
time of year.

I've been getting a lot of pain in my right shoulder. It's been like this for a
couple of months now. I keep hoping it will just go away, but it doesn't. I can't
lie in bed without it hurting unless I lie on my stomach with my arm bent out
to the side and a little over the edge of the bed. But once I get to sleep, I shift
positions and then the pain starts and, after a while, wakes me up. Now it's
starting to bother me when I run, especially if I go more than four miles. I
guess I'm going to have to make a call to my friendly neighborhood
orthopaedic guy.

@George,
Yikes, George. Yeah, pay that friendly neighborhood orthopedic guy a call.

This autumn weather is SO fabulous for running, I agree.

Good luck maporsche! Tell us all about it!

I didn't go to the gym today. I have to get my act in gear. I had a good discussion with a personal trainer type (very smart) about what my fitness plan should be. She included a bunch of stuff I don't know how to do yet (like crunches on an exercise ball). It's not a big deal for me to learn how to do it. But I find that I'm less enthusiastic about going to the gym than when I had these nice clearly-defined routines that I was comfortable with.

Plus, I went from 3 days/ week running to 5 days a week (running + gym) and that was a lot and I kept missing a day or two because of stuff I had to do and feeling guilty -- she agreed 4 days/ week made more sense. 2 days running, 2 days gym.

But trackmom still wants to do 3 days/ week running. She's super-flexible and would go with whatever if I insist, but *I* kinda want to keep doing 3 days/ week running, too.

Sigh.

I'll figure it out.

Meanwhile, plan to do 3 days running, 1 day gym this week.

@ehBeth,
Eek how did I miss an opportunity to nag? Mr. Green

Please go to a doc. I mean, if your shoulder hurts, you won't be able to click your fantasy hockey choices. Then someone like me would pick for you and you know I stink in three fantasy sports and may eventually get to stink in fantasy tiddleywinks.

Okay sorry, weirdness and levity collided for a moment there.

Go see a doc because we care aboutcha.
