Edmund Lear's Aunt Jobiska had it right:

Quote:
The Pobble who has no toes
Was placed in a friendly Bark,
And they rowed him back, and carried him up
To his Aunt Jobiska's Park.
And she made him a feast at his earnest wish
Of eggs and buttercups fried with fish, -
And she said "It's a fact the whole world knows,
That Pobbles are happier without their toes!"

I've had five days of restorative sloth. Emotionally this may have been wonderful, Physically I'm feeling more fat than muscle. Exercises today. All the exercises today.

Gymmed!

Good news -- first day back (Friday), I'd definitely lost a step. Last time (Monday) was normal. Today I realized that my usual routine wasn't getting my heart rate up there and I had to add some stuff/ go faster/ etc. to raise the heart rate to where it should be. So I seem to have made up lost ground pretty quickly.

Soz--

Good for you. Bodies get adjusted to being used vigorously.

Pushed the full stack on the leg press at the gym last night (only 6 reps, tho).

Yay! Lotsa good news on this topic. Smile

A back and biceps day. 40 reps with 15-lb. weights, then 40 reps with 4-lb. weights (I was really cooking during those). Plus I calculated speed and distance for the walking portion of my commute and it seems that I am now walking at a 4.0 MPH clip. At the start of the year, I was only going 2.5 MPH. If I break the light-speed barrier, I'll let you know yesterday.

i've been endulging my wrist and flu for 2 1/2weeks now, with occasional break of an excercise. must get back on track, but going back to the classes with this wrist will probably have to wait and general gym is sooo boring after that. sigh.

Got 5.35 miles in the dark last night. Saw a raccoon as big as a er, uh, a really big raccoon.

I'm 90 miles in, just part Quinnipiac on Rt 5.

My virtuous motion yesterday has me feeling a bit more inclined to spring clean the universe--but only a bit.

Thank you. Smile

Took a 30-min 1.1 mile walk around the seaport area with a fellow Data Analyst who's in much better shape than me but still needs to get back in condition. It was a slower pace, about 2, 2.5 MPH so that we could chat. Really a lot of fun today as it was in the 40s and very sunny. Nothing is blooming yet but don't tell my allergies as they are here already.

Weight training tonight, though, proved to be difficult. I just felt tired but I'm sure it's that plus the strain of the week (I've been covering for someone else at work for over a week now). I did my set but it was a slow process where I would do 5 reps, rest a moment, then another 5, etc. whereas usually I can do 10 or 20 before taking a breather, and sometimes 30 or 40. Ah well, it comes with the territory, I suppose.

Where I'm losing the weight is odd. I am losing it in my waist, which is always the first place, and then, helfino. I don't think my hips are significantly smaller even though I'm almost 20 lbs. down. I get the feeling I'm losing it in some really odd and out of the way place that means absolutely nothing for clothing sizes, like maybe one day I'll look in the mirror and notice I've got exceptionally well-toned earlobes.

Would that weight loss kits included air brushes for too-too solid flesh.

Freaky weather + cancellations = no gym.

Might have a full foot of snow by tomorrow afternoon, though, not counting snowdrifts! (I see some impressive ones already.)

15k tomorrow and I intend (sensitive people should read no further) to run it as naked as possible. My theory is I have been running so slowly in practice because I have on way too many clothes.

Now try to get those images out of your head.

It was all torrential rain here (when did this turn into the weather thread...oh,yeah, when I started whining about the cold....in January) but that didn't stop us from driving over to Jersey for a bad steak dinner. (I don't usually bring home half of a filet mignon) But what I wanted to report is our dinner guest knows a woman with a farm in Vermont about three miles from the Canadian border ..... and he wants me to go up there mid-virtual run to ACTUALLY run into Canada. What the hell.

Soz--

That's plain Not Fair.

We're having more torrential rain today--which doesn't give me an excuse not to exercise inside.

The snow is actually gorgeous -- I haven't seen this MUCH in a very long time. (I think with overnight accumulations it's up to a foot already, and still going strong.)

Will probably romp in it later -- that gets a heartrate up.

Romping is good. Damn weather and tooth stuff!

Today's activities will be indoors, which may include some - gasp! - cleaning.

I think I've found where the weight is being lost from: sides o' the breasts. That's why it didn't really make a lot of difference re sizes but now it seems that, er, undergarments, are starting to fit better.

My mother may give me some of her clothes in a coupla months. I'm gonna need 'em. Shocked
