Trudged up hill in knee-deep snow.

Flew down on sled.

Trudged up hill.

Flew down.

Repeat X 10 or so.

Fun!

Ah, Soz, I miss those days!

Today I am in work. Yech.
I ran for six days in a row this week, so the legs have today off.
Maybe I can get some distance in tomorrow or Monday.

With luck the winter sports enthusiasts are going to suffer 8-9 months of deprivation starting NOW.

From your lips to the Weather Gods' ears.

Might or might not walk today; we're looking to do some cleaning. So far so good re the weight; if my current numbers hold for tomorrow's weigh-in, I'll be past 20 lbs. off.

All clear here in the city.
but,,,,,,WINDY!,

And now the news:

Joe Nation donned his light jacket and shorts and headed out to run the Colon Cancer Awareness 15k just like he did last year at this time. This time, however, he returned to his apartment to put on his tights and running jacket because it was frigging cold outside with 21 mph winds. All went well. Ran a mile to get to the race. Ran the race. Trotted up the hill to hail a cab home.

ahem
Last year's time: 1:34:18
Today's time: 1:34:13 ....!!!

So, two races, one week apart, two new personal records.

Joe(he's like some kind of speed demon.)Nation

PS George, I ran the first 5k of this race faster than the 5k last week. Shocked

Yay on records!

Whoa, I just sat down to say that I'm whupped after shoveling the driveway and I'm so whupped that my hands are actually shaking. Good-whupped though! Have the runner's high thing going. Was out there in just my (thin) microfleece and my gloves (though I still have longjohns on from sledding) (and pants over those, and boots). Sun's out, sky's blue, it's gorgeous out there.

Anyway, shoveled the driveway -- about 10 feet wide by I dunno, 50 feet long by 20+ inches deep. And wet. And HEAVY as hell. And not many places to put it so I did a lot of loading up the shovel then walking someplace else and dumping.

Whew!!

Then earlier walked to a big sledding hill -- dragging sozlet on a sled for much of it (concept was better than execution, there was too much fresh/ unstamped snow and sozlet+sled just sunk into it -- not enough gliding action) and went up (and flew down) the big sledding hill about a bazillion times.

This is one weekend where I got more of a workout than if I'd gone to the gym. Way the heck more fun, too.

I think I've found where the weight is being lost from: sides o' the breasts. That's why it didn't really make a lot of difference re sizes but now it seems that, er, undergarments, are starting to fit better.
Hey, that's good news for health, even if not for garment sizes! Losing upper body fat is great!

Thanks! This morning's weigh-in: I'm down a total of 22.2 lbs. (it's so alliterative).

Taking today off as I had flulike symptoms last night. I'm going to stay home and do crossword puzzles until I'm better.

What does your new shape do for your golf swing? Sorry about the flu so close to springtime.

Well, there's a new goal to add to my 2008 list.

I just signed up for the 2008 Chicago Marathon on October 12th.

This will be my FIRST marathon and will be a major item to cross off my lifetime 'to-do' list.
