Hey, thanks re the kudos. I owe it all to the wonderful yummies at dag 'n littlek's!
I can't say I'm slug-like. Slugs don't sit around resenting the natural climate of the universe.
I've cajoled myself into the exercise routine by doing only half my normal reps. Somedays I can slide into the whole routine. Other days, like today, even doing half "normal" is a grievous imposition.
Color me Defiantly Uninspired.
Doing at least some of your routine under difficult circumstances earns
Gut Points. Way to go!
For the first time in two weeks, aprt of my run was other than a slog.
I actually started feeling the rhythm for a while there. It was good.
Skiing at Loon Mt. tomorrow.
George--
Thank you. I regret the firmness of my Damn Fool diagnosis.

It was accurate.
You should have heard The Lovely Bride.
Oy.
Did my routine, this time using heavier weights for about half of it. Interesting. I'll probably try to mix it up a bit, use the current (4 lb.) weights on occasion, sometimes the 10-lbers. and sometimes all together (the 4 lbers. are wrist straps so this is possible without active juggling).

hey! you a skier? i am always desperately looking for skiing companions. am going alone this weekend either to sunday river or to stowe....the boston ski and sports club has buses that take you there (leaving at 5am...ugh) - and it's still cheaper than the daily ski pass itself, but i will not know anyone. 's ok, i'm going skiing, not yacking, right?
if you ever go on a weekend, lemme know.
Last night I had an attack of the Wamblies. Now purged, I realize how sensible I was to go slow and sluggish yesterday.
Jes--
The more personal rules you make for your exercise routine, the more involved you become with your exercise routine.
George--
I apologized for the tone, not for the sentiment. Lovely Bride and I are obviously Soul Sisters.
Still, you deserve a Good Woman.
Another 30 reps, with 15 lb weights today. It was a day to work back, biceps and calves, which sounds like a law firm.
Can't get going this week. High centered or something.
Coogan's Run is this Sunday and then a 15K the next Sunday.
Joe(I'll run them, but there will be nothing to yell about)Nation
bought a new ski jacket (well, just a goretex shell to be exact) and silk underwear, the long johns kind (not the lacy frilly kind). i C A N' T W A I T to go skiing this saturday. I'm alredy packed for the day, that's how bloody excited I am.
Soz--
?
Dag--
You're a one.

Ennui can turn the world into a loathed treadmill.

I don't really qualify as a skier.
Back in the 70's I was a pretty decent intermediate.
Stopped skiing when I started up with The Lovely Bride (hates the cold, is
terrified of heights, and doesn't like speed and feeling out of control).
I started again when we brought Clive to the Adaptive Ski School at Loon.
Finances and schedule being what they are, I only get to ski once or twice
a winter.
Whap away.
I did get some exercise, on the order of walking about a mile (much of it carrying a ~60-lb girl) and standing for about 3.5 hrs (also much of it holding a ~60-lb girl) but I didn't make it to the gym. The rally (Barack Obama) started very late and ate into the time I planned to use to go to the gym.
<ow!>
Soz--
Which is more important, your figure or the future of the world?
45 minutes in the pool , about an hour of shopping (senior's day
at shopper's drugs - 20% discount
).
oh yes , also went to pay city taxes - that was the most strenuous part .
hbg
Oooh, taxes. That has to count for something. The stress alone burns tons o' calories.
Noddy, you're too kind. I doubt the future of the world will be much impacted by my presence at the rally... but I appreciate the get out of jail free card! Won't be able to use it tomorrow, so if you don't feel like whapping me now, please do so tomorrow (I'm pretty confident I'll be able to make it tomorrow though -- we'll see!)
Plan for February --
Walk on even days, lift on odd days.
... , Feb 18, Feb 11, Feb 8 -- shoulders, abs, back, chest
Feb 28, Feb 23, Feb 12, Feb 4 -- treadmill 4.0 miles with varying elevation, 675 calories avg, 66 mins avg
... , Feb 23, Feb 13, Feb 6 -- biceps, triceps, quads, hamstrings
... , ... , Feb 14, Feb 7 -- treadmill 4.0 miles with varying elevation, 675 calories avg, 66 mins avg
... , Feb 15, Feb 9, Feb 1-- calves, gluts, inner and outer thighs
... , Feb 15, Feb 9, Feb 2 -- treadmill 4.0 miles with varying elevation, 675 calories avg, 66 mins avg
It's been a tough haul the past week or so. I finally went to the gym this morning for the first time since Saturday. At least my weight is holding steady. Could be worse...
