Good for you on the 7K!

How did the last 100 meters feel?

Thanks.

Oh, they felt fine. Actually my last 2 K were the (relatively) fastest.

And... oh chucks!... after that I did four 100 meters dashes (walking back to the start).

Won't tell how my feet will feel in the evening.

I'm also burning calories resenting the snowfall. Did my routine not just to do it but also to keep warm. Yeesh I'll be awfully glad once this freakin' winter is finally done.

Obviously some people are more joyously fit than other people.

Attitude is all.

You know you're really into this when a form says "Race" and you're tempted
to put "10K".

The best laid plans....

I was going to run three miles to get to the start of the Snowflake Four Mile and then run a mile or so to the subway in order to get over the twenty mile mark for the week.

Got up, got dressed, got to the subway, got to the Park, tramped around the three miles to the start and found out it had been moved up to 9:30Am (it was ten to eight) and would only be a fun run. (icy conditions)
The ice didn't bother me a bit on the way over but I was trotting along 5.5 miles per hour. The boys in the front of these things travel a mite faster. So I got in four and finished the week with 16.

76 for the year. I just crossed the Connecticut River. Where'yat GeorgeO?

Weather and this lingering whatever-the-hell-it-is kept me off the roads on
Friday. I only squeaked out 2 today.

I'm in Guilford.

30 minutes of walking yesterday, not expected as we got off the wrong stop to get to littlek's. Tramping around in snow and snow boots (and carrying heavy stuff) makes for unhappy knees and back this morning. Gaaah.

Joe Nation - We missed you out there yesterday! Hope you are planning to run the 2008 NYC Marathon. Next stop, Coogan's Salsa, Blues, and Shamrocks 5K Run (Pre-St Paddy's Day) up in Washington Heights ! Be there (note-to-self/Joe Nation always check your email and NYRR.org website for inclement weather) !

Thanks George ! Glad to be here. I happened on this site while training for my first marathon last fall. I'll try to keep it light !

Swam a few laps at the gym today for cross training.

Also welcome to GaijinDa. You might or might not be interested in JoeNation's (also first) marathon thread from last year..
But, wait, you must already know about it. Let us know if you don't.

Guilford: I've got to tell Diane.

Welcome GaijinDa!

Well, I was hoping to make my first goal today at my weigh-in, but it was not to be (something about Vietnamese food last night ...). Still, though, I've lost a total of 15 lbs.! Smile

Slow and steady wins this race. I bet next week I have the first goal well in hand (er, paw).

GaijinDa!
Hey! a local!
Loved getting the shirt with Al Gorden's picture on it. For those who want to be inspired------Al, who still consult the NYRR board--- will turn 107 this year.

No run for me yesterday. I'm pretty wiped out with working the whole weekend. Today off too.

Jes--

'Tis easier to avoid food that sticks-to-your-ribs than calories that encourage water to lurk outside your bladder.

Fifteen pounds is very respectable--and more inspiring weather is coming.

Wow, Jes!

So hi. I've been a total slug. Some good reasons, some bad reasons, but sluggitude reigns. I can't go to the gym today (no, really), but it's head-whapping time if I don't go Wednesday, OK? Thanks.

I've been wallowing in self-pity in the last 10 days. Not only I had a bad head cold/bordering on sinusitis (got some industrial strength decngestants prescribed today, so yay), but also got my ganglion cyst back in my left wrist. typing with a splint ain't no fun, but i had to hang boxing on a nail for awhile, which contributes to the wanting to wallow in self-pity.... but today i'm going. i won't punch, just jump rope and do leg strength exercises while others box.... just being in the class should help my psyche. next week i'll probably have another aspiration (they stick the thickest gauge needle into the joint to drain the cyst cavity) and if it comes back, surgery.... i'm very cranky about it....feeling far too young t have my body stand in my way. grrrrrrrrr.

Dag, if you've got whatever-the-hell-is-going-around, make friends with it
because it'll be with you for a while. Mine is going into week two. Ack.
