Yeah, that tells ya something right there, doesn't it?

I've run in weather that's much too hot, much too cold, much too much...
I occasionally encounter another runner and we'll wave as if to say "Glad
I'm not the only nutjob out here."

The fellowship of self-inflicted misery.

Feb 13, Feb 6 -- biceps, triceps, quads, hamstrings
Feb 7 -- treadmill 4.0 miles with varying elevation, 675 calories avg, 66 mins avg

George, isn't it great to be able to shed some weight, shed some old clothes, get some space back and do a good turn for the less fortunate? Good karma all around.

Definitely didn't feel bad about tossing the teal monstrosity. Besides, the green and white jacket is warmer.

mac -- one of my inspirations! Yay!

Joe, you silly (yet very dedicated) man. Wink

Noddy, damn, you're having a more than a little inconvenient winter. Warm up soon. And a belt ... here's hoping it snakes its way to you soon.

Long time follower here without committing. Still not. Snarl.

About the fourth day with doing something, a mile or more walk, some hours with the stone removal, which involves kneeling reaching, pulling, snarling, pulling, tossing, and getting up and down.

I'll give a soliloquy on these particular stones at some point, but not today.

Ok, there was lots of cardio, and some sculpting, and it wasn't too bad. I talked to the instructor before class, and she was very kind - gave several modifications during class - some of which I needed. 45 minutes flew by. I'll take that class again.

Monday- boxing and step
Tuesday - nothing, was too lazy, had a dinner out with friends (no alcohol, only lean meat and salad). Hell I've only had alcohol maybe twice this past MONTH!
Wednesday- boxing and total body
Thursday - boxing and total body
Friday - my theatre company premiers Medea....party afterwards
Saturday - Chinese New Year party at a friend's house
Sunday - remorse and long workout

EDIT: I don't hurt anymore, ever! Yay! Pants are shrinking, and I feel thin already (though I have ways to go still...and no desire to be really thin. Buff is better, just somewhat leaner buff.)

Don't you love it?

Today is my rest day, but I decided yesterday to be inspired by JDP and start a weight routine. (Actually, I caught sight of my frozen pink body in the mirror. Since I stopped doing weights last September to concentrate on running, I have lost some definition,)

George--

"Fellowship of Self-Inflicted Misery" is a great label. You and JPB and Joe all qualify.

Osso--

Oh, come on! We're such a jolly and prestigious in-group. You would fit right in.

Mac--

You are a brave woman. More than 50 years after my Sophomore year exposure to Principles of Modern Dance (required) I still flinch when I hear "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue".

Even with modifications, moving gracefully for 45 minutes is impressive.

Dag--

Buff is just around the corner.

Joe--

(Hearts in your eyes and a songs in your hearts)

EhBeth--

Come the thaw.... Actually for the nonce the ratty jump rope cord is just fine. These jeans are obviously destined for gardening and grubby housework where baggy is chic.

It's raining hearts! Smile

The resistance band-pulling thing I do in the mornings has gone from 30 reps to 60. I'm still on 30 for the weights but the stretching has definitely gotten easier.

Story... Mr B and I routinely celebrate major restaurant-filling holidays one day early. Most restaurants are half-full, there's no rush, and the service is better than on THE day (that, and yesterday was a feast day while today is a fruit day). We went to dinner last night, enjoyed a lovely dinner at a favorite spot, and I thoroughly enjoyed my plate of spicy thai shrimp and peanuts (on noodles rather than rice, 'cuz I felt like it). Even more, I enjoyed the fact that I was very satisfied with the appetizer and half of my entre and was smart enough to ask that the remainder be packed up right away.

Net result? Down 0.5 pounds on a feast day and full of pasta carbs as I head out to the club for my treadmill torture. It's working! Very Happy

Keep on keepin' on, jes. You're doing great!

mac -- I have a very hard time in those classes because of my knees. I'm glad she gave you some alternatives.

My knees are not happy today, but the rest of me is ok. Advil is my friend.

Saw a blurb in the Globe this AM.

Quote:
How does a single person celebrate Valentine's Day? By going to
see "Medea," of course - the classic story of a woman with serious marital
problems. Tonight, Ryan Landry kicks off a run of the play done Gold
Dust Orphans-style - in drag. Landry has put himself in the starring role.

Notice that Jason squeals, "How could she do this to me," rather than saying, "My poor, beloved children."

I always thought that the run down the river and over to the park with one lap of the bottom loop was about a 15K. Turns out I was right. It's 9.6 miles which is what I ran today. 21.1 for the week.

9.6, hot damn! That's a nice bit of distance. I got in an 8 last weekend,
but I'm coming down with something so who knows what I'll do this
weekend. Nine would be nice, but we'll see.

How's that Garmin working out?

I couldn't see your map by the way.
Did you change your Map Access parameter?
