Plan for February --
Walk on even days, lift on odd days.
Feb 11, Feb 8 -- shoulders, abs, back, chest
Feb 4 -- treadmill 4.0 miles with varying elevation, 675 calories avg, 66 mins avg
Feb 6 -- biceps, triceps, quads, hamstrings
Feb 7 -- treadmill 4.0 miles with varying elevation, 675 calories avg, 66 mins avg
Feb 9, Feb 1-- calves, gluts, inner and outer thighs
Feb 9, Feb 2 -- treadmill 4.0 miles with varying elevation, 675 calories avg, 66 mins avg
Excellent, jes!
Thank you. I doubt this week will be as good, as weight loss always slows down plus, erm, hormonal reasons are looming large on the horizon.
Since fat cells are little estrogen factories, losing weight may outsource some of your estrogen production.

Cold and cloudy day, but definitely Ok for running.
I locked into a slow, steady groove and did about six miles.
The forecast is for snow tonight changing to rain tomorrow. Yuk.
JPB & George--
Fitness bookends leaving no excuse for anyone who lives between Chicago and Boston.
Or considering their determination, Boston to Chicago--the long way.
Here's is what you are in for, George.
I cursed myself for mentioning that this had been a snowless winter.
I cursed myself for thinking that it would be FUN to run in the lovely snowfall.
I cursed myself for trying to run on the paths that wouldn't be so icy.
That's a lot of cursing for 1.8 miles.

That's definitely outsourcing I can get behind.
I noticed our cable co. has some fitness programs in the on demand section. I checked out Leslie Sansone (walking). Very interesting, certainly something to do if weather does not permit an outdoor workout.
PS That woman of modest means is going to get my teal jacket earlier than expected. It is currently in the wash, once dry it will be packed away in the Goodwill bag. The green and white jacket (one size smaller) is out and ready, gloves in pockets, T pass in sleeve pocket. I am ready to face the world.
Green and white are wonderful colors for a winter jacket! Well done, jes.
Hey, Jes, I can't tell you how much pleasure I got a year or so ago when
I donated several pairs of pants that I had undergrown. Good to know
they will still be used.
It is a slop-fest outside. Even the parking lots surfaces are treacherous.
I'll re-evaluate later, but it doesn't look good for an outside run.
Joe~
Congrats on getting two under bad conditions.
I'm sure it was two because I know you cut the corners wide.
(That's my favorite rationalization.)
Woke up at 5 this morning when a tree branch fell on the roof. Fortunately the ice coated the branch and the weight of the ice lowered the branch and then--but only then--did the branch snap off.
At 6:15 the power went out: No heat, no water, no cooking facilities, no second cup of tea, no breakfast, no computer.
Because of circumstances beyond my control the emergency lighting system wasn't available.
Dark of night turned to gray daylight and I managed to do most of my exercises before power was restored.
The moisture is falling as rain, but the rain washes down over the ice covered branches and makes lots and lots of little icicles. This may not be the last power outage of the day.
EhBeth--
Did I ever return greetings to Brenda? I meant to.
Hey congratulations jes! And to all of you for continuing your efforts.
Noddy, I'm glad the power and the heat (!) are back on at your house.
I'm going to attend a "CardioSculpt" class at the gym today after work.
I have tried various classes before, but always hated them because a) I felt fat and unfit compared to everyone else (probably not true), b) I was frustrated that I couldn't keep up with the teacher (not that everyone else was), and c) due to the lack of keeping up, I didn't think I got as good a workout as I could on the elliptical or treadmill on my own. So I've been working the machines, usually six days a week.
Since it's been about a year since I tried a class, I figure that it's time to try again. I'll report back.
Mac--
You can do it--and live through it. Liberate your inner extrovert.

Hit the park again this AM, 5:20
to be exact, wanting to see how bad it was. It was bad. I ended up thinking about Dy's Words for Snow thread... here was ice snow, slushy snow, blackice, chippy snow, crunchy and extra crunchy.... and lots of words not usually associated with unless you've just crashed on a ski slope and murdered one of your bindings.
I was the only person (idiot) in the park for almost the whole trot. 3.0 miles

Guily as charged!
Without ehBeth (nagger-in-chief), those pants would still be hanging in the back of my closet.
George--
I, too, remember.
and now ... my beady little eye is turning to focus on ...
Mistress Noddy and a belt ...
