Wow - ike did some damage in Galveston and Houston!

Dan, you and Pattie stay safe!

Alex, recall a dinner a group of us had before a SCUBA diving rescue exercise trip. Everyone ordered linguini and clam sauce except me. My toast for the evening was "eat fresh parley after dinner - or drown".
Got a good laugh. Very Happy

sue, you might try uninstalling anything 'google' then reinstall sans 'chrome'. Might work.

First day of vacation and Stradee's plan for the day? nada Very Happy

@ehBeth,
I believe it, ehBeth. It was a very wide spread storm. Our power is out - in fact all the counties around us are out of electricity. We have our generator doing it's thing, and that's good. We had small wind damage, nothing large around our home. It's a good thing.

All clicked.......

@danon5,
So good to see you, danon.
I've been worried about you and Patti.

The rain continues here. Apparently there has been flooding here because of Ike. Hard to believe, but believable.

I wonder if the rain over by Alex ever stopped.

@ehBeth,
Good morning all. Clicked.
Had a bit of a rain reprieve yesterday. The round, warm yellow thing is due tomorrow.
Judging by the shells, I do believe the rest of the snapper crew, busted a move for their new homes, the past few rainy days. Always under the disguise of heavy rainfall. Nature.

So glad everyone's safe!

Weather's very warm here although Fall is in the air. Difficult to say what kind of winter we'll have. Yesterday, one of the babies who i fed two seasons ago, brought her twins for a visit. They're probably 2-3 months old now - very cute.

The herds arrival earlier than usual may indicate a very cold winter. Who knows though. We're hoping for much needed rain.

Good God! Reread my last post and must apologize for the 'drown' comment.
My mouth overrides me brain at times...unbelievable.

@ehBeth,
Our power came on late yesterday. Many others are still out though.

The local movie store said to me that people were coming in to rent movies just in case the power came back on at their house. While there today a lady came in and said she couldn't return a dvd because it was still in the player and they didn't have power. The movie person said no problem that there wouldn't be any late fees.

Dan, good news the powers been restored. Glad structures held up also.

Alex, not so good news. Hang in there!

Today, the weathers still warm, but Fall is just around the corner. Maples and Mr. Silver Birch's leafs are beginning to drop. Big test for new leaf blower/vacuum after the Lily and Liquid Ambers shed. Tarps at the ready.

Shopped today for winter gear - tomorrow the paint store. Vacation so fars been sooooooooo relaxing. At the rate i'm moving, painting may have to wait till Spring.

Dan, perhaps its the full moon - or planetary - my memory's either on vacation or gone. Probably a bit of both.

@Stradee,
It's been a lovely full moon this round - almost lemon yellow tonight.

~~~
That's encouraging news, Dan.
Hope tomorrow's better, Alex.
went to see an odd-ish movie tonight. Lots of people around me laughing. I mostly just stared at the screen. Thank goodness it was Tuesday - $4.99 movie day. I'da been p*ssed if I'd paid $15 for that exercise in futility.
GOOD NEWS!!
Dear Shirley,
Officials at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) say that they plan to rescind the agency's plan to delist gray wolves in Greater Yellowstone and the Northern Rockies sometime soon and place them back under federal protections.
Thanks to your incredible efforts and support over the last few months, the Fish and Wildlife Service has finally bowed to reality by recognizing that there are serious scientific and legal problems with their plan for delisting wolves in Greater Yellowstone and the Northern Rockies.
I am so proud of your efforts and grateful for your support in this fight. This important victory couldn’t have happened without the efforts of tens of thousands of Defenders supporters, our dedicated staff and our conservation allies.
But our wolves aren’t out of trouble yet.
Take action now. Urge Dale Hall, the head of the Fish and Wildlife Service, to protect wolves with a plan that ensures that responsible, science-based and balanced management will benefit wolves, ranchers, hunters, Northern Rockies residents and all Americans who care deeply about wildlife conservation.
The Fish and Wildlife Service, Wyoming, Idaho and Montana must now go back to the drawing board and come up with a new, more responsible plan to ensure that wolves are fully recovered with healthy, sustainable and diverse population levels before they are removed from the list of federally protected species.
Shirley, we need your help to ensure that common sense and sound science -- not anti-wolf extremism -- guides this new plan.
Help us ensure that this is a lasting win for some of America’s most beloved wolves. Please take action now.
With Sincere Gratitude,
Rodger Schlickeisen
President
Defenders of Wildlife
@Stradee,
That sounds great. The wolves rid us of more pests and that is a good thing. They help provide a balance in nature. Now, if we could only ship a few million to Iran.
Clicked.
@alex240101,
Hi there Wildclickers. It's really quite lovely weather here right now. Just the way I like it - warm/cool during the day, cool/cold at night. I love duvet sleeping weather.
Puts me in the mood for some cheese curds and hard cider.
